Yay new app :D This app will let you edit the banshee ceiling height that is in place on most maps

To use:
-Open your map in this app and select a bsp tag
-Then set the ceiling hight to the desired Z cord and hit save

How to do it manually:
-Copy down the sbsp offset from a program like ADI
-Then go to that offset and move forward an other 48 bytes(dec)
-You will now be at a float value, just change it to your desired z cord

Update1:

- Now edits the banshee floor
- Source released

I had long ago written this off as being impossible. Well, at least impossible for the forseeable future. Guess we're in the non-forseeable future now.
Once again, Shade, big freakin "thank you."

i like seeing your achievments. it seems to me your become a king in halo 2 map format . like iron forge

this should be nice on systemlink... flying all around map above barriers and showing people what "special" map you got

Would there be a way to add a banshee barrier to a map that doesn't have one? I'm working on something with Sentinel HQ and it's REALLY big, so it'd be nice to constrain it a bit. It'd still be huge, but not quite as much.
Not that I have anything against using your aps (they're actually bloody convenient) but would it be something that could be added into an IFP?
What does this do to a map that has more than one banshee barrier? (Ascension is the only one I know of). Or is it all one object? Off to try it on Ascnesion now.

Yeah you should be able to add it to a bsp with out one just change the value from 0.
Yes it will be in a ifp coming with the next version of entity. But there are currently no other programs that can read an sbsp ifp right now so i didnt bother putting up the ifp for download yet. Im not to sure about ascension there must be a value for barrier width to but i just have to find it

Once again, another great app. How about merging all your mini apps? :)

Well I went and tried it on ascension. Works great. Ceiling moves up. Floor stays where it's at. Doesn't seem to create any holes between the ceiling and floor. I wonder if perhaps the banshee barrier is indeed an object (either a dome or sphere) and this value is the max z of a bounding box. What do you think?
I'll give it a try on Sentinel Hq and report back with the results.
[edit] Worked perfectly just like you said. Made a flat plane all the way across the map. Once again, awesome.

Well, that's nifty. Now, is there a way to move the floor? I'd like to make it so a Banshee cannot go lower than a certain height on Reclamation; would prevent people from hitting the death zone while in a Banshee.

Now, if you take away the normal barriers to get out of the map and use thsi app to make the ceiling higher, wouldnt you be able to just fly the banshee effortlessly out of the map?

Another question: Since the value was set to zero in sentinel_hq before I set it, does that mean that setting it to zero in any other map will completely remove the barrier? Or will it just make it so the barrier immediately thrusts you down and kills you?

I havnt tested that but it appears that setting the value to zero nulls the banshee barrier

Seems everyone is working on apps just for tiny little features like this..

Making an IFP at the start would of been better.
