HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

Alright, this is the release of my newest program, Alius Bos.
This program can open any old or new maps, but not campaign.
It also opens shared.map, mainmenu.map, and single_player_shared.map.
It loads the map once and from there you can edit any string in the entire map easily. When you are finished with each string click (Save String) and it will update it.
When you are finished editing all the strings in the map, click File --> Save Map in the menu.

Preferences -> Images
Image recognition is slightly implemented into the program, meaning that it will replace most of the weird symbols that you may have seen in H-Name with human readable objects such as [W] for a Sword image, or a (7) for a Killimanjaro medal, an (X) for the X button, etc.

Note that this program takes up a decent amount of RAM to load the entire Unicode string table, so I wouldn't recommend running the program while running many other programs. If you do encounter a problem with starting the program, try restarting your computer.

If you're wondering, Alius Bos means "Other Cow" in Latin. As in H-Name was a cow, and this is the other cow!

finally, u released it Lee, I feel special bc i was the first 1 to have it, and also bc im the first reply. This is a huge step up from ur beta version all it did was tell u the name of the map and its size, except deltatap but u couldn't edit it anyways. I love the search bar, congradulations Lee ur first program that is actually useful. I might not need to hex edit as much now.

nice! really cool. so this can let u rename stuff like weapons and what it says when u pick up a weapon? like a hex editor?

Exactly like that but with pizazz because it's so much easier.

ok. @w350m3! now i can use this because my hex workshop expired. yay! u released this just in time 4 me 2 use it. yay no more hex editors 4 me! i'm usin this now! 10/10

Nice, although I still prefer hex. I like it though, it seems to be a good app.

! it wont work, when I push save map and ftp it wont work!

their is a little thing you have to do before u ftp it is called resigning

Yea I did that, still doesnt work.

I forgot to mention it and I assumed that most modders knew it, but after you Save the Map, your have to resign it, AND I would recommend clearing you CACHE files, that means everything in the X, Y, and Z drives on your Xbox. Hope this solves your problem.
