Add your own video intro for Halo PC!

Post by Xiion »

What you will be learning:
How to make, and import your own movie intro for halo pc on start up.
how to properly use Rad Video Tools.

Things you will need:

Rad Video Tools. can be aquired here: http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm

Ok open up you halo game folder (C:\program files\Microsoft Games\Halo)

You see 3 files called Bungie.bik, gearbox.bik, and ending.bik

you should click start>All programs> Binkandsmacker> radvideotools.exe

once it is running click Bink it! in the bottom left hand corner. but make sure you highlight a video that you want as your intro first. at the top, a name should be highlighted, save it as Bungie.bik. after that, click Bink. there should be short or long wait before the process actually starts. wait until finishes. once its done, click view to make sure it finished correctly. then copy and paste int your halo folder, and click Yes to overwrite the original bungie.bik video. if you dont want to overwrite, then rename bungie.bik to bungie.orig(.bik) and then paste the newly made video into the game folder. if you want to add music, jsut click the link at the bottom of my sig.

just leave everything default. it'll make it at the same rate it was in the original video.

make sure the file works when you try to play it in RAD by double clicking it. if it does, then rename it to Bungie.bik (capitol B)

So this is like those videos that show before you get to the main menu? And you can use basically any video? Any specific time length?
edit: And how would you set it back to normal? Make a backup bungie.bik thing?

yes, it is the intro videos that show up at startup of halo. there is no time limit, but it would be best to keep it short so the game doesn't crash from loading the larger files.
to set it back to normal, just rename the originals to bungie.bak, and gearbox.bak, and microsoft.bak.

in order to fix the boxes issue, you must make sure the video is the exact size as your current desktop resolution, or the resolution you run halo pc at. that should make it work.
