Today I am going to teach you how to make it actually SNOW in a multiplayer level.

The items you will need are:

Hex Workshop
Halo MapTools version 3.5 (HMTv3.5)
And the ability to follow directions (<-sad humor)

This will be a step-by-step tutorial, but it will be very thorough.

***PRE-CAUTION - ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP COPY***
So to help you with that. Create a folder on your desktop and label it

I can't do it

Is there a certain version of Hex you have to have. I have version 2.54. You lose me when you say go to find under the edit menu. Theres no type or test string in the drop down menu its blank. If its because of the version i have can you tell me if theres another way to do it.

Would this work for Halo 2 on xbox?

I'm trying this on Halo 1 for Xbox. (and to the above poster the level b40 is not in Halo 2, I don't think any Halo 2 maps have it snow, so no) Okay, I'm trying this on the xbox version and it's working fine and dandy until the map rebuild. Okay so for the map rebuild if I pick the decompressed cache file for the original file I get an exception saying that an arithmatic operation caused an overflow. Now if I pick the original compressed cache file for the original map it works fine. However when I try to open bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map with HMT v3.5 it gives me the same exception. I was thinking that since I rebuilt the map from a compressed cache file that it built a compressed bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map and for some reason HMT v3.5 won't decompress them (well it says it does but then then it says the file type isn't supported) so I use HHT v5.0 to decompress my maps, and if I to open bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map with HHT it gives me an exception, but this time it says that an attempt to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file was made, or something like that.
Any ideas?

To answer your question, Fury, I referred to the "PMI Jedi Skills" PMI tutorial, because I remembered that it said something about this error in the tutorial. I found it, and copied it, here's what it said, and how to fix it:

Sorry for the double-post, but I have a question. Ok, I modded my BloodGulch a while ago, all I did though was reskin the rocketlauncher warthog. Now, the tutorial says to paste an unmodded copy of BloodGulch into the BloodGulch Extract folder. I only have the version of BG with my modded hog. Will that be ok to use? Or will it mess up? Thanks.

EDIT: I'm not bumping it, I answered a question. And this post I'm asking a question. I'm not meaning to bump it, but sorry.

A bump is a bump. Doesn't matter if you're answering a question.
However in this section you ARE allowed to bump.

You can bump in the tutorial forum. Some people look to the last few pages, find incorrect tuts, and try them. Then they say it doesn't work.

I have followed the instructions with exacting detail. I did it three times to be 100% sure, but I can't get it to work properly.

If there is someone who has successfully done this and would like to make a quick $20 via paypal to add snow to my map, I sure would appreciate it.

Just email me at [email protected]. Thanks.
