Making A RaceTrack

Hey Im new here just thought I'd post a new way of making a racetrack

Step 1.

First things first make a backup directory of your maps. Then go ahead and open up Entity Alpha 1. And click "File", then "Open" and Double click on "05_deltaapproach.map". Wait for that to load.... Once done go down to the "Mach" Tag section and open it. Click on "scenarios\objects\solo\deltatemplate\bridge\bridge" This shouldnt take long to load, once done, at the Right-side of Entity check the boxes "Recrusive" and the "Parsed". Next to that is a button called "Save" Click that and it should bring up a window saying "Browse for Folder". Now I save it to my desktop for quick access so click "Make new folder" at the bottom of that window and type in "Gate". And click the folder then ok. This shouldnt take long either depending on the speed of your computer. And congrats you a have passed Step 1!!!

Step 2.

Well now that you have the gate tags on your desktop this is how you "Build" it into your map. Right with "Entity Alpha 1" still open click "File" then "Open" and open up your map you want to build it into. For example im going to use "Asencion.map" If you have made a new folder you will need to "Copy" the following maps : "Mainmenu.map" and "Shared.map" So that Entity can see which textures and such are being used... Now once that opens you should see at the Bottom-Right A button called "Build" click it and a window should open up saying "Open". You will need to go to the directory of your "Gate" that you saved in Step 1. Open that folder and there should be a file called "Bridge.Info" Double-Click it and it should start loading. Wait for a window to come up saying Done and click "OK". You Have Just "Built" A gate into your chosen map :P

Step 3. Last Step w00t!

:roll: Now you must be thinking hmmm why did I bother? Well the awnser to that is Racetracks can be alot of fun ESPECIALLY Crazy Halo Derby In the Killtrocity mappack. Anyway you will need to go to the Tag section saying "SBSP" Click the one that is there and wait for it to load.... Once done At the Top Right It says "Tools" Click that and choose raw editor. Be careful not to adjust the size of window because it seems to go black but however you may move it to your likeing. Now hold your right mouse button in and press "W" on your keyboard this will move you forward so that you can view your map.... These are the controls

right mouse click:change view
left mouse click:select object
arrow keys: move object up, down, left, right
Page up: move object up
Page down:move object down
W:move camera angle forward
A:move camera angle left
D:move camera angle right
S:move camera angle back
X:move camera up(vertical)
Z:move camera down(also vertical)
Shift, Ctrl, Alt: change angles while holding down and moving mouse

Use these to move your camera around and position your "Piece" around

But before you do any of that you will have to continue onto Step 3b beta lol

Step 3b Beta.

Lol anyway you will need to close the bsp viewier and "Sign" the map. There is a button at the bottom right called "Sign" click it and then click "OK". Close down entity for now and open up dothalo, go to the vehic tag section. After that go to the tag beneath it and go to the Dependcies window and click on the part that says "objects\vehicles\banshee\banshee" and click the drop down box at the top there and go to "mach" then the drop down box beneath that go to "scenarios\objects\solo\deltatemple\bridge\bridge" click the button that says "Save Changes" and then at the left side click "Fix Encryption". Then close down Dothalo as it will not be used anymore. Go to wherever you put "addchunkscompress" and open it up. Then click "File" then "Open" and choose your map. After that theres a box that says "All Done Here". It should bring an even bigger window up then at the right side click the " Add Chunk" check box so it has a tick and go to add chunk "0" then do then box next to it "# To Add" To about 10 as the gates are rather big (you can type this in). At the bottom right there is a little check box called "Inject As New" UNDER ALL CIRCUIMSTANCES YOU MUST !!! CHECK THIS BOX!!! then you will need to click the box above that says "Add" then wait for it to finish by the way do Yes when it ask's you to and close that down as you will not need that anymore.Time for Step 4. Alpha!

Step 4. Alpha!

Now This is almost over. Next you will need to open up Entity Alpha 1 agian and open your map. Scroll down to the sbsp tag and click it and go to "Tools" then "Raw Editor" then use the controls in step 2 to use them from here I cannot help you no further ! O and by the way YOU MUST CLICK ON FILE SAVE CHANGES EVERYTIME YOU MOVE SOMETHING IF YOU DONT IT WILL RANDOMLY MOVE THE OBJECTS WHEN YOU FTP IT TO YOUR XBOX!!!

Step 4. Alpha 2

This is how you inject a warthog as a weapon...
1. Open up dothalo
2. Scroll down to the [vehi] Tag section
3. Find warthog and copy the meta offset at the top
4. Go to the [weap] Tag section
5. Click the weapon you want to replace e.g. magnum
6. Paste the meta offset (Overwrite it) where the weapons is
7. Click "Save Changes" and "Fix Encryption" then close

Move the spawns in Entity Alpha 1 , BSP Viewer

Finish! I will edit more once I have some more time but for now START BUILDING and have fun! Post any problems and i will try and help you :lol:

good tut dude just one problem tho n its really fucking annoying i always get it in entity. this is it--

ummm ive never seen that before but uhh you could try saving the gate agian making sure you click perpspective and parsed if not try clicking continue?

Im really not sure... sorry man :oops:

or you could try lowering the number when you add chunks in using addchunkcompress maybe...

im on a 360

hey can some one post up the old maps because im on a 360 using an xsata google it cant find any of the old maps any where im also on aim boomeris3bs and my gmr tags are randy sux cok, "im not realy randy" and boomer3bs

Yes it is illegal to post map files because they are copyrighted, thats why people here post patches.

if u dont have modded xbox it is hard to mod old maps on a 360 and im not trying it on my 360

no im safe modding with xsata

You could do all of this in Entity 1.3, and it wouldn't screw up.

guys how do u like duplicate the gate? cuz i already know how to get one into the map, but to make a racetrack, u obviously need a bunch. is that where the "chunks" thing comes in? if it is, how does it work

another way to get the warthog to fire without messing up the magnum or whatever is to go in ADI and go to dependencies for the warthog_gun, and null out the sound, and put BOTH the proj tags as whatever you want. be sure they are the same.

just duplicate an itmc tag and its dependency with the gate then go to the scner tag and swap the itmc's to the gate itmc that you just made

When I open the map in the chunck adder, I'll hit "all done" and it will tell me "Check your vehicle or file loaded". I think my chunck adder doesn't work correctly. So could someone post a new link where to get a new Chunk Adder? Or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Hey how do i get the bsp veiwer to work every time open it loads for a bit them i get this blue screen with a error code and my computer restarts ive tried Entity Alpha 1 and Entity Beta 1.3

what should i do???
