Honor Guard fully usable in MP(no weapon restrictions)

Description: This tutorial may seem useless to some of you but I had trouble getting the honor guard elite to work properly in MP until now so I decided to make this tutorial so that other people won't have the same headache i did. :wink: Done in 5 easy steps. There are no delays in throwing the grenade and you can use every weapon without having to change the weapon itself. And yes the helmet does come out an honor guard helmet every time :wink: Also has the right animation so that you can actually see melee attacks.
So without futher delay...

Step 1: Open up Insolence. Then open any SP map and whatever multiplayer map you want the honor guard in.

Step 2: Scroll down to the hlmt tag group and find objects\characters\elite\elite and click once to highlight it. Then drag it over to your MP map and wait until the transfer is complete. NOTE: If it asks to locate the single player map then locate it to complete the transfer. Once it's done transferring close the SP map because you don't need anything more from it.

Step 3: Go to the bipd tag group in your MP map and double click on objects\characters\elite\elite_mp or objects\characters\masterchief\masterchief_mp to open them. Switch to dev mode and got to all dependencies and find the hlmt dependency. Now double click it and replace it with objects\characters\elite\elite. Then go to all values and find "default" and change it to "honor_scl".

Step 4: Go to the transferred elite's hlmt tag and open it. Change to dev mode and go to all dependencies. Find the jmad depedency objects\characters\elite\elite and change it to objects\characters\dervish\dervish.

Step 5: Resign, ftp, and enjoy.

Not all maps have honor guards or councilor elites, if you get the elite from a map that doesnt have those you are only going to get the a glitched elite that spawns with random headresses, and sometimes a half-jaw.

I would do the extract and inject with entity instead of transferring. It goes faster and sometimes insolence doesn't link stuff right.

You dont have to take a hlmt from another map at all. There are values in the elite_MP hlmt that will put the honor gaurd stuff on the bipd for you.

There isnt in variation in mp elites. So changing the string ID will only give you randoms....

who said anything about string ids. The way veriations work is through enums, each part being a different enum. For example the base helmet for the elite is 0 and if you want to get rid of it you would set something to 255. You can make custom variations using this method. I did it to make all elites in the map have no helmet and and half a jaw. I might be able to get more into detail after i get the latest hlmt plugin.

just to help; honor guards should be in: delta halo, regret, gravemind, and high charity. sorry i dont know what there called when on the computer.

game keeps freezing when someone dies or when I reload :evil: :cry: :x

I managed to fix my problem. Instead of using Insolence i used entity's extract/build thing because i don't have to re inject the elite sounds

no because the sounds are already in the map to begin with
