[Halo 2] Manipulating Death Zones

Post by Monkey Terd »

Well, this is a very simple tutorial, on how to move / take out Deathzones. Fist off, for those of you who don't know what a deathzone is, a deathzone is a barrier, that when you pass through it, you die and get a suicide agenst you. (I.E. water on Relic, pit on Elongation, etc.)

Here is how to do it in Insolence.

NOTE: If you do not have a "Death Zones" reflexive, I've attached one of the more updated IFP's at the bottom.

Step 1.) Open your map, and navigate to the [scnr] tag for your map. For this tutorial, I will be using dune.

So Navigate to
scenarios\multi\dune\dune

Step 2.) Open the IFP, and view the plugin.

To move the Deathzone, Change the X,Y,Z coordinates according to where you want it (can be very useful during BSP Conversions). If you need to find coordinates, I suggest using Glitchy's XY Cordfinder

To completly remove a Deathzone from the map, all you need to do is change any of the last 3 values (Length, Width, or Thickness) to 0.

Step 3.) Resign your map, and enjoy playing under the maps. :P

One more thing, considering that most people can't open Relic and Gemini in Insolence, I converted the IFP into an Easy to use applet that WILL open ALL maps.

For future reference, don't bump such an old topic.
