I'm yet to figure out. How do I set the flag in mainmenu to allow capture the flag or assault on modded maps?

Thank You Sooooo Much!

this was by far the best tutorial i have seen, i had never applied a patch before and i lookaed at probaly 7 tutorials before this and they were all terrible. Thank you for taking the time to do this, i really appreciated it and i'm sure other newcomers will appreciate it as well!!

i can't do it ether.
if i get the map from my xbox and i want to get it in ppf-o-matic tham he can't see my map :s
how wierd is that.

can someone just make a video tutorial ? that will help a lot of people

my englisch is bad, i'm dutch :)

yea your english isnt the greatest. im not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish. if you want to make a map into a ppf then use ppfstudios...if you want to apply a ppf then use ppf-o-matic. just do a simple search on halomods and read up on some stuff before you go diving in right away.

i now how i do it, but there are 2 bars, 1 is were you place the map and 1 were you place te ppf file then you press apply and you are done.

but if i want to place the map you have to search fot the map but if i press the button behind the first bar and i want to fing my map he does'nt see my map at all.

i hope you get it :(

i think i know what you are saying...when you go to the iso file (your map), where it says "files of type" at the bottom you are going to want to scroll down to the option that says "all files". then it will recognize your map files. i hope you can understand this lol

OK biscos

I havent been into H2 modding,,, didnt even notice all the nifty new tools out,, but i was a big fan back when for H1 mods... thought i would work on some of mE own.

Anyways,, is it possible to Cache edit anymore? I tried using DotHalo a few times didnt work, im not to sure on how editing maps works for Halo2, i tried to read up as much as i could but i just wanted a quick lil insight. actual compressed maps have to be signed,, but do cache maps?

Im not putting a 5gb game on my HD, too much wasted space,, just wanna cache edit a bit.. LET ME KNOW FRIENDS.

Cache editing for Halo 2 doesn't exist right now. People just mod the actual maps.

whats the reasoning behind this? is it just not possible or people just havent figured out the logic behind replacing a cache file..ect?

I would assume that the cache files for Halo 2 are much different than Halo 1, so people haven't figured out how to work with them. I think that it is just easier to edit the actual map. I am not sure, I'm not a great modder, just a great ppf-patcher.

oddly some of the tools I was using, dothalo for example would recognize it as a H2 map. It has an option to compress the map, as if you were going to create a map out of a cache file. If h2 is anything like h1 cache files were uncompressed version of the actualy map.

Im having a little trouble with the actual extraction of H2 from my disk to my pc back to my box,, the reason i am doing it this way is

1- i do not have enough room on my box

2-even if i did i dont want the bink vids- and single player maps in there


so i trasnferred the files over to my pc then back to my box the ones i wanted. must the maps be resigned? Do i HAVE to have the bink vids? Do
i have to have ALL the maps there to correctly work??

I guess im asking is do i need to resign all maps even if i do not open them, and what files MUST i have on the box to not receieve the prominent DD ERROR!!!!


edit: did it again and it worked,, not sure what caused it the first time,, thanks though

I have a question about skins for tha warthog, etc. I have no problem loading the modded maps but i see a couple skins that i want to download and i dont know where to put the dds file in order for the skin to be in effect...someone please help me out...thanks

to remove a mod is the opposite
u put the Modded file in the original file slot and the original file in the modded slot...

but u need ppf toolkit to make that ppf
