Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
I'm not looking to put some long detailed post describing my feelings on it, but I must say, I'm pretty darn happy. The controls are a tad iffy, but it's otherwise very addictive. I've restarted the demo a few times for kicks, and I must say, throwing Stormtroopers out of windows just never seems to get old. What were some yall's impressions? Worth the wait?
Indeed I LOVE THE fact that they grab on to shit and scream like little girls.
If you force hold them and bring them near objects they will latch on and it becomes difficult to move them till they let go.
I will most def. purchase just for the more force powers. =]

Not removing this 'till I get back. Leaving on [01/05/09]

Really? I didn't like it very much...The controls were clumsy, the graphics don't look anywhere near what I remember seeing from one of the demo videos. Also, I ****ing hate that damned AT-ST. Every time I got there, it immediately starts shooting, before it even finishes coming all the way up the lift, and not being able to block anything without standing still is going to make the difficulties >Sith Warrior extremely hard. I liked using the force powers, but the clumsy controls just piss me off at this point.
I think Noobraska is a pretty cool state. eh grows corn and doesn't afraid of anythng.
(12:18:11 AM) GTAF: DAMNIT GIR WE ARE ON THE SUBJECT OF VINCE'S DICK.
The controls will likely be tightened. I had no problems moving or anything, but aiming force push and throwing things in the right direction got very tedious. I've got no graphical complaints, and I don't think it's fair to judge a game that looks fantastic for the most part for looking slightly less than expected. I never had that AT-ST problem by the way; it may be a problem on your end.. My only real problem with aside from the controls would likely be its dramatic super-simplicity to super-ridiculous jump on Sith Warrior. I basically just start hacking through people and tearing stuff up, feeling rather cocky and proud, I finally get to the AT-ST. I think I may have gotten maybe 10 points off that thing before I died within maybe 15 seconds. It wasn't a battle; I was a rabbit, and he was hunting me.
It was decent. But all those developer interviews and engine showcases hyped my beyond what was presented in the demo. A game with kool force powers, not entertaining lightsabre combat, a stupid way of holding the lightsabre - especially on hard where you die so quickly because otherwsie you have to stand still to block and not the best controls. Another thing is that there is little to no priority given to focusing on enemies... Yes Unleashed, I want to throw that odd panel a few metres behind that guy im trying to kill. Oh and I have to move the camera to what I want to focus on, rather than which direction I'm facing (vica versa? I can't remember) so the problem of getting the wrong thing is made even more annoying.
Hopefully it can be changed or the game somehow presents itself better that I don't focus on those points as much. But its a little late for them to even try and adjust anything
I also liked that someone said: He can throw push a whole big starship down (videos) but when it comes to moving a lock on a door while being shot at from ever respawning enemies its just too darn difficult!

I loved it. I have played the demo through multiple times by now and it hasn't lost any of its fun value. I plan to buy it.
Also, the AT-ST, I found that if you hang back and throw the massive amounts of crates and such at it instead of running up and trying to chop it with a lightsaber, it looses health much much faster. And its also easier to dodge when it shoots.

or should I?
for that, check out jedi knight: Jedi academy, with console commands you can turn the dismemberment level way high so that you can cut stormtroopers, and in multiplayer, other players in half
but personally i think this will pwn JKA's face off

Bringing the large ship down was rejected. Enemies that defied the force was also retarded. I want to use my force on everybody. Being Vader was cool, him being a badass who doesn't run and all. I liked flinging shit everywhere and force lightning was beautifully entertaining.
So, yea, fun game besides a couple frustrating spots and the one time I fell through the map.
