Mirror's Edge

Video 2 (from E3)

This game looks absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait for it. It's essentially a parkour style game set in the distant future. In this future a controlling government watches over everything, so people hire "runners" to carry important messages safely and from place to place under the radar.
In a city where information is heavily monitored, agile couriers called runners carry sensitive information on foot via the rooftops and skyways. Usually the police leave them alone - they have bigger fish to fry - but now something has changed...

Play as Faith, the best and most agile of all runners, in an adrenaline-fuelled race to save her sister’s life as she unveils a bigger plot involving the whole city and the runners. Mirror’s Edge is an action-adventure game that revolutionizes the genre by introducing a full body experience with dynamic 1st person movement and combat, in an immersive modern-day universe and with a socially charged storyline.

1) Is this gonna be on 360?
2) When at E3 was this shown?! I watched E3 yet I keep seeing mention of E3 shiat I missed... Was there more than just the Xbox 360 Conference today and if so where can I see this footage??

This has an assassins creed feel to it.. Great the first time through, but even towards the end you're starting to feel things are getting pretty repetitive.

EDIT: Yes, there was more than just Microsoft.

It may seem as though it's repetitive, but a there will be a lot of puzzles throughout the game, meaning you have to think instead of aimlessly running around. I can almost compare it to Portal in that sense.

That's probably the coolest thing I've seen in quite a while.

Hmm, seems like a free running game. This looks like a rental game IMO. I wouldn't want to buy that. Doesn't look long enough. Also a sort of follow the red brick road.. No real choice.

I think if Dorothy had followed the red brick road, she would have ended up in Neverland and really given the Lost Boys something to talk about.

But in all seriousness it doesn't really seem like you have that much control over the path you take at all. I like watching free running, and this game makes it seem like you're really just watching more than anything else.

I had never herd of this game in till yesterday in the 3 seconds that I saw of it In the Ps3 Conference.During those 3 seconds I said "Pretty". Intrigued even though I felt its was for Ps3 Only, I wanted to see what it looked like. Then I found out it was coming out for the 360 as well.

So... I watched the trailer E3 2008: Leap of Faith and Story Trailer . At the time I had a pen in my hand. I dropped it. My Jaw dropped. My eyes widened. By the end I’m at a loss of words. My artistic core screaming with glee.

Wow. That’s all I could say.

I can't describe to you how I have just been shaken by this game, for in turn you wouldn’t understand and I feel you have enough of that from me for now.
I know not if I should be Happy or Saddened by this game. This game at its core was an idea I was hoping to pitch some day. Once again I’m beaten to it.

This game just topped Starwars The Force Unleashed in the OMG meter. Quite a feat indeed.

Finally a game with great graphics that isn't war-torn, dark, and gritty. Now if they added multiplayer "races" that didn't have routes that were faster than the rest, I would be deeply interested.

I'm sure there will be a great multiplayer for this game, I'm hoping for a free-roam environment as well.

I saw the ad for this game the other day, and I must say that it is the ideal sort of game that I would like to play, Bungie pulled a similar thing off to this when they made Oni, a hand-to-hand combat game, but with the shooter aspect, and I hope Mirror's Edge gets pulled off well too.

It has amazing potential. I loved climbing stuff in Assassin's Creed, and I loved using just punching and kicking in smod for hl2, so this seems up my alley. But I'm skeptical about whether they can pull this off. If the red here's-what-you-do thing is present in the whole game, that would be very disappointing. I'm a fan of Myst, so I wouldn't call what they showed a puzzle in a million years. Not that I'm expecting a Myst puzzle, but jesus, might as well just put an arrow on the screen pointing at where to go. I'm hoping they'll be bosses or at least some variance in enemy types, maybe some roof running bad guys.

I'm a little disappointed it's not sandbox gameplay, and the lack of stealth, but meh.

Anyways, I love the style they went with. Looks pretty.

It seems like everyone is getting a little too excited about it (INSANEdrive, are you okay?) I'll need something a little more substantial before I start thinking this is anything near worth buying.

Yep pretty sums it up for me.

I think the graphical side of this is amazing. It seems to have a simplistic artistic feel to it and I love it...

No...No I'm not. Its hard to explain...but if I had Infinite resources and Protege talent in the creation of video games from the ground up (In all its aspects) this game is what I would of made. Everything is just....wow.

It---for one reason or another---strikes me at my core.

It looks Like a Half Life/ Team Fortress with a Lighting Upgrade
