Best Bungie Game?

Post by WaeV »

I've been playing through Marathon using the open source engine Aleph One and it's very good, but hard to get used to. Halo 1 PC is the only Halo game I own (XP, and no xbox).

Between those two, I'd probably have to go with Marathon actually. The plot is really good, even though I haven't gotten very far. The graphics suck BTW. It's only "2.5D" and uses sprites.

Wow, really? I'd expect amazing graphics from a game created fourteen years ago.

Also, your poll is inconsistent. You categorize the Marathon series, but the Halo games are each separate. You also excluded significant games, such as Myth and Oni.

Yeah, well they were amazing for their day. I just didn't want any noobs running out to play it and coming back complaining about the graphics.

Crap, I did screw up the poll. I intentionally kept the Marathon games together because they are very similar, whereas the halo games can be quite different. I completely forgot about Myth and Oni, maybe a mod can add those in? I can't change it now.

Honestly, I actually was a fan of ONI, but since it's not there I had to put Halo.

Having only played the Halo series, I am torn between Halo 1 and Halo 3.

Halo 2

I only realised how lacking Halo 3's campaign was until I thought about Halo 2's.
I mean, sure it didnt have the story or graphics etc, but it had great replayability IMO. Halo 3 didn't have a level I really wanted to go back and play, Like Outskirts, Metropolis, Uprising, or even the battle with Tartarus.
Also, I loved the multiplayer. The fact that almost everybody on my friends list had halo 2 made the experience unlimited. The glitches in the game also made it funner =P

Halo 1 and Oni. Bungie really messed up with Halo 2.

It seems as if I had remembered to add Oni as an option it would have been the most popular! I'll have to try it out once I'm done with Marathon.
