What games should I get?

I'm going to get 1-2 games with my 360 purchase in the next week or two, I'm just trying to figure out which games I should get... (Don't say Halo 3, the 1-2 games are in addition to it)

So far the ones i'm debating on are:

Call of Duty 4
Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed
Bioshock
Gears of War

I'm trying to focus on multiplayer games as I can't really justify paying $60 for a game i'm not going to play a whole lot...(Bioshock, ACm and Gears of War, I've played the multiplayer before and wasn't impressed) Although I really want Mass Effect as if it's anything like KoTOR, I can not only put a ton of time into beating it, I also went ahead and played it roughly 15 times afterwards fully. This is just the first 2-3 games i'm getting, i'll still be getting more when my finances have stabilized a little bit :P

And on a lesser note, is there any real difference between the Halo 3 360 and the Premium that justifies a $30 difference (there is a play and charge kit included with the halo 3 version, that's why there's only a $30 difference). I don't care about the look of the console, just wondering for reference.

The halo 3 xbox is a rip off its a premium witha 50$ paint job, dont waste ur money. As for the games Id immediately say elliminate assasins creed and mass effect, in my opinion they both look like crap games that just got a shitload of advertising and are way way over hyped.

Ive played Bioshock, its pretty good tho no online.

Between all of these id have to say COD4, my friends got it, ive only played online(which is great) but by what hes told me the campaign in absolutely amazing.

A lot of people like gears of war as well but its just not my type of game.

My vote goes to COD4.

:P personally i think mass effect looks interesting. Someone one my friends list has it and said its good so far, he was only an hour in though. No opinion on assassin's creed though cause i have yet to play it or ask about it. GOW is short. Bioshock is fun but i beat it on a rental so that should say enough.

I would say Call of Duty 4 (always good single player and multiplayer) and Mass Effect looks really fun and it should last awhile.

Assasins Creed looks great, along with Mass Effect. I can tell you that you'll probably like gears, but the campaign is short and you can easily get boared with the multiplayer.

CoD4. It has an entertaining singleplayer and the multiplayer is very addictive and fun.

CoD 4 and Mass Effect. from what I hear assassins creed isn't all that grand. GOW is a little old and not as many people play it, but you might want to get it sometime in the future so you can understand the sequal

I wish you could rent games from Netflix :(

But yeah, my main priority here is to get games that will last until I manage to scrounge up money for another game, which could be christmas, so that's why Mass Effect/CoD4 sound the best for me. We don't rent videos from Blockbuster or anything and I don't have a car, so it's difficult to rent games, otherwise that's what I'd do with Bioshock and Assassins Creed.

Are you a multiplayer whore kirk?

If not, then Mass effect, bioshock and then assasins creed in that order.
I put Assasin's last due to it supposedly being repetitious. But those games will be played for a long time due to their length.

I grew up on Single Player games ScottyGEE. If i haven't ranted about it enough, my internet sucked so much playing games online was like playing a game where I didn't have any bullets and I was walking around high on some unknown drug that made jump back and forth randomly. So, I played single player to extreme levels.

In short, I don't care if it's multiplayer or not, I just want a game that will last. Multiplayer games generally last a bit longer, in general, that's why I was focusing on them. If Mass Effect is anything like KOTOR, i'll be playing it forever (I still play KOTOR at times, probably my most played game of all time actually)

I already have the Orange Box for PC. Best game ever.

I guess that's the last we'll be seeing of you :P

mass effect is very much like it, i played it at my friends. A little too much talking for my taste but interesting none the less.

Gears of War, you can't go wrong with GOW.

That and assassins creed.

Assassin's Creed is an amazing game, it has a ton of gameplay, and it will last a while. However, replayability once you've completed it would probably not be nearly as enjoyable(Same could be said for most solely single player titles, however). As a starter title, I probably wouldn't buy it (On second thought, I probably would. I'd say it's one of the top 5 in my favorite games, up around Dead Rising, Oblivion, H3, CoD4 - I'd place it around #3 in how much I love it).

I'd avoid BioShock, unless you truly love it. It's one of those games that some people love, and some people hate. I hate it.

Mass Effect looks incredibly boring from gameplay videos, but it's getting great reviews from players and reporters, I haven't played it, so I can't attest to either side (Unlike Yamagushi, who apparently knows when a game is good or bad without ever touching it, and that justifies him saying a game is crap).

Call of Duty 4 is a game I haven't seen anyone dislike, and it's a very good game, I'd certainly get that as one of your choices.

Gears, meh. I really can't stand the multiplayer, but the campaign was pretty good.

I thought the same towards mass effect, but after watching the video review off IGN, it looked considerably better...

Indeed, I'm not so certain if Bioshock is a good idea either, maybe as a rental, but not a purchase.

Anyway, thanks. I'll probably pick up Halo 3, and depending on if they're available at my store (orange box took a long time to get there, I ended up ordering it online, though that was PC) i'll get either CoD4, Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed. I honestly can't make a choice, so i'll make availability do that for me.

I already have Oblivion for PC (although I've never gotten close to finishing it)

Bioshock Is awesome.... For about the first hour, then becomes a repetitive little bitch.

Alright, to all you PC to 360/console switchers out there...

I've been a PC gamer all my life (never owned a console) so i'm pretty good with the mouse and keyboard. The controller? I suck at it. At LAN parties I usually end up being on the bottom of the stats..

So i'm just wondering how quickly someone who has never really used a controller before can get better at it. It's sort of worrying me.

couple weeks. You just need to fin the right sensitivity to make things feel right. Otherwise you'll be moving the analog sticks either to far and over-sensitive or not moving quick enough. Find the balance that's how I did it.

I read online once that using the other control on the controller, the plus sign like one is better for sniping once you've got your crosshair near the person. Is this true? I've never used the plus sign like controls before with Halo 2 at LANs.
