List of single player pc games

Post by jim20af »

hey everyone, i'm lookin for a pc game that has really good single player. i can't play games online, so multiplayer is a no go. it doesn't matter what genre really, but i was looking more towards a strategy or fps game. just looking for some suggestions!

RTS:
  • *Command and Conquer...any of them.
    *Supreme Commander
    *World in Conflict
*Rome: Total War or Medieval II: Total War
I've heard Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War was good, but haven't played it myself.

FPS:
  • *Crysis if you have the PC to run it.
*F.E.A.R. (I highly recommend this series)
*The Orange Box (you won't really be able to play Team Fortress 2...but Portal and Half Life 2 + Episode 1 and 2 are fantastic single player games with loads of replay value)
I'm a bit out of the loop on PC games, but those are a few that really stand out to me. :P

What he said.

Also Bioshock

Also, even though they aren't the genre you specified, I would highly recommend Bioware;s RPG's. Kotor 1 & 2 and Jade empire (at least Jade empire has real time combat). They are not exactly the pinnacle of graphical excellence like Crysis, but for a single player experience with a large story which can provide many many hours of gameplay it'd do you nicely...And hey, they're probably in the bargain bin now.

But otherwisre, like Gametag, I'm not really too knowledgeable on PC games. And you haven't necessarily said if you want new games (graphical powerhouses) or you mind playing old games (like deus ex =D)

The Orange Box is a good all-around fun bunch of games, most being single player.

warhammer 40k, dawn of war is good, theres the original one, then theres also winter assault and dark crusade.

Good strategy games in my opinion are games like Kohan II: kings of war and warcraft 3,
not world of warcraft

World of Warcraft isn't really singleplayer anyway. I mean, it sort of is, but the fact that in some cases you have to group up makes it not.

Right you are.

Warcraft 3 is okay, but i've always been a huge fan of the Starcraft series... can't wait until Starcraft 2 comes out. Going to have to actually play the singleplayer of SC and SC:BW now soon :P EDIT: In other words, both of these games are somewhat recommended, although they are a little old.

Fable is pretty fun also.
