The Crysis Demo is counting down the final hours before release!
Who here is looking forward to the crysis demo? http://www.crysisdemo.com/
On top of that, here is the real question. Can your computer run it? Mine has nearly the minimum specs but it is so beastly it shall still run it! What about you guys?
Here is a quick little picture to get you guys interested!
i may as well give it a shot, but i'm sure my computer will just choke and die.

I played it through. It is definitely a buy if you are for intense games. That game is so amazing with graphics and the environment is very blow upable except the geometry itself like the cliff sides. Tress can be shot down and have no preset break point, buildings can be fragged down, such an amazingly built game. Then there is the editor. You can do anything with that, they said the editor given is exactly what the developers used to create the maps. I checked it out... Wow.. So amazing..

You mean 'destructible' environment?
Also, Crysis looks like a nice game, one I might pick up. If I had a computer worth playing it on.

i doubt it'd be under a gig as well. Just judging by the graphics i can already estimate around 3 gigs for the full game, and about 1.8 gbs for the demo
12Gigs sounds almost too over the top...As if they didn't care about compression trying to be the prettiest >_>
Yeah, I'm no game developer, but that just seems odd. Unless of course the game is actually a long game and not just 8 levels of awesome.

Technically its only me animating though
I have the spec, but when I run the executable to set it up, nothing happens, the "busy" mouse icon comes up, and the PC whirs louder, but no extra processes, and nothing happens. :S

It runs great on my computer. My only issue was the sound lagging right at the beginning of the game. That happened in BioShock also, but the full game was fine. I'll probably be buying. It won't be right away, but I'll definitely be getting it.

It starts out extracting to your C: temp folder, is there something on your computer that won;t allow that?
I gave it a try and it was pretty sweet. However, I don't think you can experience the full amazingness of Crysis unless you have a beast of a computer and can run it at very high settings. I could only run it at medium at best for a playable framerate. However, it was still pretty fun.
Maybe I thought it was very amazing because I haven't been playing any recent games. Basically guild wars and modding. I'm quite behind on the recent games. Oh well, it is still a cool game as you guys said
to give me an idea of how much fail my computer will be, i've got a ~2 Ghz AMD processor, ~1.25-1.5 GB of ram, and an x800 videocard. i play oblivion at 800x600, medium-ish settings, draw distance maxed. can i play the demo? would it even be worth trying?
