Bungie and Microsoft

I saw this yesterday...thinking its just some crazy kid blogging it up.
Now the net has exploded with it.
What are your thoughts on this subject?
Do you think this Rumor will become fact? Ect.

Interesting. I don't foresee any drastic change if this happens, other than that any new games made by Bungie might be PC/360/Mac/???. But then again, I don't know much about business, so feel free to correct me.

i don't think there will be a big difference with bungie being a independent company, but i think they might then help make games for sony or other company's.

I can't think of any logical reason to break from a company which has provided you a lot of resources and helped you to become the developers of the most (Monetarily) successful console series.

um Bungies contract with Microsoft is up now that halo 3 is done. Or so they had said after the release of halo 2. maybe they have a new contract idk. i think that it will make Sony and other companies alot happier to see Bungie as a separate gaming corporation.

I doubt this would happen. I do think however maybe they are doing this since the Halo series is over and Microsoft doesn't need a use for them. Then again that could be stupid but I just figured it could be mb.
For some reason I could see something like that happen, Microsoft says something like "You guys are good, you should have your own team you don't need us anymore" or something along the lines.
Microsoft also spent lots of money for the ads, the Halo 3 Limited Edition 360, the 7 Eleven thing, the MD Game Fuel, etc. But Microsoft knew that they would make well over a $100 million at the very least. So they knew it would be worth it. If this does happen Microsoft is actually pretty smart.
Like I said I doubt this would happen though.

thats awesome if you ask me, best outcome for both companies, Bungie becomes single corporation but is in publishing partner with Microsoft to make 360, and pc games. very nice.

I think this is going to be good for Bungie. They will be able to release more games (Other than Halo) They will also hopefully be able to start making more games for Macs/PCs. They also had this on Attack of the Show last night.
