Yea yea yea... pokemon is lame I know....

The cards and the show are lame.... the games have always been pro.

Anyone else pick up the new poke' games? I myself got Pearl the other day... and it's a pretty solid installation into the Poke series. I'd defenately reccomend the game if you're into RPGs at all...

For me, the games got very repetitive very fast.

Don't bother preaching to me either, not going to change my mind. It seems to be a common trend that when someone mentions something bad about the games, people who play them get very defensive and try to explain why the games are good. "Blah blah, NEW POKEMON, blah blah, NEW GRAPHICS, blah blah."
This is not directed at you, I'm simply stating what has been my personal experience.

Pokamon red/blue that was pretty sweet. 150 pokamon seems easy to remimber, how do kids keep up with over 300 now?

I don't really care much for the new ones, but they're pretty easy to remember for the most part because you can relate them to old ones pretty easily... (There are I think 493 now :S)

*shrug* new pokemon = more variation.... but too much variation maybe?...

Not really sure a lot of the names of the newer pokemon, but I got Diamond.

I've always been a fan of the pokemon RPG games, and this one is probably the best. They have old and new pokemon, better graphics, trade/fight pokemon throughout the whole world through wifi. I find it quite entertaining.

Pokemon is a guilty pleasure of gaming. No matter how old any of us become, when a new Pokemon game comes out, you may say "Golly gee, isn't that lame franchise done yet?!"...but on the inside you're thinking "SWEET SWEET SWEET I WANT IT!"

I would get it, but I don't have a DS. The wi-fi addition is going to be a major improvement, and the new 3dish environments looked pretty cool from the screens I saw.

On a side note, I'm still blown away by the fact that someone found a real way to catch Mew in Red/Blue.

i'm going to ask how, then shoot you if you so mention "truck" or "strength".

oh, and these other boards i'm on are being invaded by pokeymans topics (LOL pokelinks). from what i've heard, it sounds interesting. if i get a DS i might pick it up and see if it's worth it, but wifi battles sound promising (now messing with a fucking cable that doesn't work) and if it can battle over the internet, even better.

as for me, though, i'm a fan of the original ~150 and nothing else. all these new pokemon are just getting annoying. it's like, so wait, now there's 300 new species we've never seen before but are actually realy common? WTF?

If I remember correctly, none of the games take place on the same "continent", even though you go to them later in the game. It'd be kinda like if we discovered 800 new species on another planet.

As for the Mew thing, here.

I would also buy it if I had a DS, But I have an old Gameboy Pocket, that's been collecting dust since the Pokemon Red, and Gameboy Camera days ;_;

It still shocks me that people have time to find out how to do that, It's like some guy was playing and just happened to do all that, by accident. >_>
Wasn't there also another one like that? Where you could max your stats or something?

Now a Story!

Based on True Events...

I remember Gameshark! I used to have the one for Pokemon Red, One time when I was 7 or 8, I was at a restaurant for a family event, and there was another family there. I had just gotten Gameshark the day before and after I beat the game I had gotten every Pokemon and maxed out stats to 9999999. Well there was some blue bastard who wanted to challenge me. He looked at me pulled out a link cable and just said with a straight face "Pokemon Battle." I gladly accepted, and was laughing like a madman. We both turned on our Gameboys, Then both entered a battle. He thought he had the advantage because of his fancy Gameboy Color, He was wrong. The second he saw my Pokemon, His jaw dropped. My maxed out Mew to the extreme and some crazy Japanese Pokemon only available by Gameshark (i think). I whooped his ass, I was so happy. Then he began to scream "YOUR THE POKEMON MASTER! YOUR THE POKEMON MASTER! YOUR THE POKEMON MASTER!" I turned away and ate my spaghetti, and he stared at me the rest of the night. To this day I still wonder if that kid remembers me. The Pokemon Master

I also do very good on the game without Gameshark some of my Pokemon I got to Level 90 (I think that was the highest)

By the way, I didn't make that story up. But believe what you want. Non believing blue bastards >_>
