LIVE for Windows Beta

Well with Halo 2 Vista right around the corner, Microsoft has released their LIVE Beta Client. It looks exactly like the Xbox 360 interface and is very cool. It currently works for both Vista and XP. You can sign up here:
www.connect.microsoft.com and Download the beta game BugBash. You can also get the Geometry Wars demo from Gamespot.

You sign up, In an Email you should recieve a confirmation code, Then you go to Connect.Microsoft.Com, sign in, and follow instructions.

What in the hell? I installed this and went through tons of wierd shit just for it to tell me the download was corrupted. Anywho i went to halo2 vista's support forums and downloaded the new live interface.msi and ran it installed it, and when it was finished it acted as if nothing had happened at all
. there was nothing new on my desktop, nothing new in my startmenu, and nothing new in program files. I have an XP and was told it would work. wtf?
