Yea same.. meaning the first level was ever the only good one :X

Never played Persia though, but it looked like Tomb Raider, which put me right off..

Can't wait for Assassin's Creed though =) ..I especially enjoy the rumours surrounding it like the trilogy being focused on finding an assassin in time by looking into gene-memory.. or something. Very interesting :P

I like the mysterious stuff, like half-life has going.

So what are your thoughts about the Sci-Fi element of Assassins Creed.

Be Warned... when you first pop in the disk you may be surprised right off the bat.

Oh.. and what is it that you are most excited about Assassins Creed (I shall respond if others do as well)

I've heard nothing but praise from players (We all know players are always going to be the ones claiming a game flat-out sucks, whereas a reviewer wouldn't generally do something like that). I'm certainly glad that it didn't look awesome, then fail to deliver (I'm looking at you, Two Worlds). The only negative thing I've heard is about the ending, but I'm not to surprised. People don't like endings to a lot of things, and I wouldn't expect a full conclusion for the first game in a trilogy, as AC is.

Haven't read into that Sci-Fi subplot, but I have heard that there is one. Should be interesting.

I'm not so much interested in any single aspect of it, I just want the game. Much the same way Oblivion and the like are, it's the game as a whole, not really just one aspect. If I had to choose, I'd say I'm happy with how they accurately and convincingly created fully-populated cities, inhabited by people who actually have that human element to them. Graphics are nice, but I'm never sold solely on a graphical element of a game. Hard to say what I look forward to most.

IGN's video review really beat on AC... Said it was like in the top 5 most disappointing games of all time, with the potential it had.

Confirm or Deny.

Sorry for the bump, but I have to comment on the IGN review. I have played a lot of games in my day, but have never played a game that I enjoyed so much as Assassin's Creed. Though I played it for only one day, I want to buy an Xbox 360 just so I can play this (not possible, though, with a kid on the way and all ). You guys need to play this. It is an amazing game. It's not extremely unlike Prince of Persia, but it's different enough to make it a totally different gaming experience.

Agreed.. the game is awesome.. It fades after a while, but keeps its enjoyment

Just don't focus on the flags like I did... over time it gets boring fast.

I watched this review as well. Honestly it seems like a crappy game that is just getting way too much hype.... It seems as repetitive as GTA to me and i never bothered to beat a single GTA game cause i always got bored of them (Tho even GTA had some variety in it, this looks like walk, scout, kill, walk, scout, kill, walk, scout, kill.... I wouldn't buy this game if it was a mear 10$...

P.S. As for the comments on Bioshock, I dont know why ppl are dissing it, Im borrowing it from a friend and ive been playing the last 2 days literally almost non-stop. Its an amazing game with great gameplay, graphics, effects, A.I., and a fantastic storyline.

Assassin's Creed is really an edgy game if you think about it. No other developer would dare make a game about such a controversial time. You're killing Christian leaders during the Third Crusade (And they say the Bible is a lie. :3). The storyline is a huge part of it, and it goes so much deeper than the historical aspect. I won't bother to ruin the plot for you, however.

Yamagushi, if you tried being a little more open-minded, you'd notice it got it's share of bad reviews. If anything, it's gotten too little hype. Reviewers such as IGN put it down for being boring, but 90% of players love it. There will always be people who dislike games. I'm sure you really love BioShock, but I hate it. You could very well hate Assassin's Creed, but I advise you to play it before you keep up with your comments like the ones you've posted so far. Yeah, I get it. You think it's boring because you've never played it, never seen the full story, think it's exactly like GTA, etc.

Please, explain how it is like GTA.
It's like GTA if you take away the guns, drugs, cars, theft, random murders, and hookers; and you add graphics, a two-plotted captivating storyline, free-running, a historical backstory, and awesome combat system. Oh wait, that's absolutely nothing like GTA. What about it is like GTA? You're in third person, you're running around, that's it. Gears is GTA. Oblivion is GTA. Every third person game is GTA.

Anyone daring to take the IGN review as undeniable truth would be wise to be a little less ignorant.

Wow those were some interesting points tural and made some sence *Game not like GTA*
I recently rented the game and played for 2 days straight it is a must buy for me it is by far one of the best games out for 360 IMO. The story line is interesting and the combat system is by far superior to some games it has a really nice feel to it.

This game has had its good and bad reviews but i wouldnt agree with any of the bad ones.

I said it was like GTA as in your doing the same boring thing over and over. In gta it would be driving across town to kill a mafia man, in this is seems its just walk all the way across town to kill a person of that time period, I dont understand how you dont see relavance between the 2.

I see. So any game with similar objectives throughout is like GTA. Cool. I'll alert 90% of game developers so they can cease production, because all they're doing is remaking GTA.

No. Saying it is like GTA is like saying Halo 3 is like Gears because you kill monsters. Yes, it's true when you phrase it like that, but that doesn't mean it isn't a horrible and ignorant comparison. Just stop with the GTA comparison. You're going nowhere, and you're only inciting further arguments based on such a ridiculous comparative post. Even if you really believe the two games are similar, that has no place in this thread. You haven't played the game, you aren't making an objective comparison, you're just claiming all sorts of things without any reasonable backing behind it. It's causing problems and you're accomplishing nothing.

On top of everything, a huge component of the game is story, which you know nothing about. You haven't played the game, and you therefore do not understand the actual 1191 plot, and how it isn't what it seems to be. There is a much, much bigger picture, and it's vital to the game. I'd appreciate if you kept your subjective posts out of here until you have some objective evidence to support it.

How is the game though/ Is it as repetitive as some reviews have claimed? Is said repetition tedious?
I know not to take what reviewers say to the word (and I don't), but when you see repetition come up as a negative aspect in all reviews and no replay-ability, an overpriced AU$100 game makes me think to avoid it and save my money.

Perhaps renting is in order?

It is repetitive. However, it does not get boring. Yes, the gameplay is very similar throughout the game, but it is not tedious or dull to play. It may be repetitive, but it's a fun thing being repeated. Even after beating it once, I was able to beat it again (Collecting the flags, a long process) and wasn't bored by it at all. I expected the second play-through to be dull and drawn-out, but it was fairly easy to stay interested as I played. If I ever got tired of straight flag-hunting, I'd go find a bunch of guards to kill, then go back to what I was doing.

It's one of those games you either love or hate. If you are uncertain, rent it. (However, as stated in the PA review, don't try to rush through and expect to get a realistic view of the game.)

Another thing to note, if it hasn't been mentioned in this thread, is that the game is the first in a trilogy. That's a key piece of information to have while you analyze the story.

My only complaint is that Alta

I played it a coupel times and my friend and I didn't like it, you do the same stuff over and over heck your main missions are the same crap spying, beating people for info etc. The graphics are great but you do the same stuff over and over i wouldn't pay 60 bucks for it because it has no replay value, also i had no idea why they even had a second character because it really didn't have to do with anything.
