The sport games Look decent... But seriously wtf? Why ruin both titles with more mediocre games?

Because they're still going to make money off of the casual gamers who could care less about "the old games being 100x better than this crap", and appealing to a new market of gamers who are interested in this sort of thing.

That said, I dislike this game and everything it stands for.

Can't say that I've had a lot of follow-up on this game. It seems more for kicks than becoming a hit, and therefor I don't think it should be taken that seriously.. It was probably just a funny scheme that the creators thought of when they were thinking back on the old Mario / Sonic rivalry in the days of the NES, Snes and earlier Sega consoles. Basically as GTAF said; probably just something for the casual gamers who may remember back when. That and younger gamers who will play nearly anything.

They need to create new better games then just thinking of and idea and sticking Classic game characters into them.
