Advice on upgrading

I use Comcast. There's an upgrade out now for 16mb down and 4 up.
I have the 8 down and 2 up package.

It's Comcastic!

My family has never been happy with Comcast. We wanted it at first, but they never came to install it. And we called three times... Same thing with my uncle. They didn't come until he called a 2nd time.

If your lucky maybe they will put FIOS in your area you can get a nice package with 20 mbps down and 10 up if you get the FIOS TV and phone it comes out way cheaper as a package. What i have right now.

I'm sure we would get FiOS once it is available. Until then, I'm stuck with this.

Comcast is notorious for throttling bandwidth. From my experience.

Do you live in NJ? I have optimum online and they have a decent service. But to get the full 30mbps down and 5mbps up its like $30 more a month or something. I just have the 15mbps down and 2mbps up and its fast enough for me, even though I do wish I could upload faster.

BTW divide the number on speedtest.net by 8, thats how many kilobytes you get.

15000kbps = 1875KB/s or 1.875MB/s.
2000kbps = 250KB/s

Yes, there are 8 bits in a byte, so you would need to divide however many kilobits your test tells you by 8 in order to figure out how many megabytes.
