The last time it snowed here, I was in 5th grade and it lasted for maybe 10 minutes.

Wow, you think it'll get cancelled with like 3 inches of snow?
Thats one easy-closing school... or just because you're in the states?
We get like a half a foot to a foot of snow and the schools wont cancel, ice on the sidewalks and such, school wont cancel.

hate snow as well but only if it doesn't cancel school. It takes only a few inches to cancel school in NC.

Same with my school. I go to a vocational school, so there's 4 different towns. Even if those towns normal high schools are closed. My school is always open. In 9th grade I didn't get home until 5:45pm one day because the snow was so bad, and the bus drivers were all confused. My bus driver's name was Larry. I was the last stop on the bus he was talking to me the whole time. I was terrified, this man had the beard of a lumberjack, and overalls with massive steel toe boots.
Anyways he probably has an easy closing school.

That's nothing. Where I used to live, 18 inches would delay school for an hour. Just to give enough time to plow the roads.

That's because I live in a city full of hippies. Dirty hippies. Dirty hippies that are afraid of snow so school gets cancelled over very little snow/ice.
Edit: 4 schools cancelled already.
Edit 2: Yep, closed tomorrow.

I love snow.
As for snow days; if there's any sign of black ice on the freeway, my school cancels. The don't want the death and horrible, gory, painful mutilation and dismemberment of a bus-full of students on their hands.

Love snow.
Love snowball fights.
Love it when school is canceled because of snow.
Love it when it's snowing on weekends and roads are accessible to local ski resort(ish) or friends house.
Hate it when roads are to bad that I cannot go anywhere and must walk to my friends house.
But all in all I'm a Hawaiian that, believe it or not, LOVES SNOW.

Depends on the state.
In CT, 10 inches of snow and some freezing rain will cancel school.
In ME, school's only canceled if the plows physically can't clear the roads in time. (Usually over 20 inches of heavy snow and ice) Although I can see you're just a stone's throw away.
Also, random comment: I find it odd that people in CT constantly complain about the road conditions and say it must be a lot worse in ME, but it's actually easier in ME, because the snow stays snow. In CT it melts and freezes.

Mother sent me this photo today.
I guess it started snowing in the morning, and this was taken at 3PM.
