That's hardly the type of cars I dream about. While I drive an Escort that is just for fuel economy, and I rather enjoy it and think it's a pretty cool looking car when compared to other cars that have the same purpose, there are better things out there.
And no saying that the GT-R is a "*** little beater box."

I have a different definition of cars that I like and cars that are, in my opinion, practical.
For example, my favorite "muscle" type car...a Pontiac Firebird. Pretty damn sweet, regardless of the generation, but completely pointless for daily driving.

If I had massive amounts of expendable money, I'd have way too many cars for myself, and all of them would be in a half-finished state. :P

Edited for crappy wording on my part.

I wish I could magically transport that engine into my car.

Fuck yeah, small diesel engines.

Friend of mine has a diesel Jetta and says the thing gets 40MPG.

My mom's Prius does (max) 45-50MPG.

My car does 25 MPG.

Now this may be a tall tale, but I was talking a former scout from my troop who says that his standard Geo Prizm from the late 80s got about 40 mpg, until one day it started getting INSANE mileage. he said they measured how much gas the put in per mile on a 7 hour trip once, and it got over 60 mpg. he says it gets about 55 around town. My dad says it's likely that the catalytic converter fell off or something, but still finds the numbers hard to believe.

I find that perfectly believable...I get 40 in the summer with a considerably worse car for mileage. If he drove it really lightly and it was warm, it could easily do that. That diesel Escort could do 68 highway according to an old pamphlet I saw, albeit given most peoples' driving methods, it wouldn't happen today.

It's not a muscle car though. :?
I don't think that they're pushing for raw power with it, but rather, using less to get more. And I don't care whether they're "known" for something or not. Considering it can probably outperform (or evenly match) a Corvette Z06 in nearly every field, I'd rather have that if given a choice.

I will admit that the power of the car has a lot to do with success in a race or in a time trial.

Though this is true, I've beat many "muscle" and new sports cars with my 91 integra (on the highway to pass them or whatever).

I love downshifting.

Speaking of which, I would like a Nissan Micra. Or a Ferret. Or an off-road Quad. In olive, with tan highlights. >_>
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

It has power, yes. But there is a difference between American muscle car power and the rest of the world's power.
American cars put in a massive V8 that goes TORQUE YEAH, while Japan can make a comparable amount of power with a smaller engine.

It's not beating them if they're going at a constant speed. >_>

Indeed. It'd be like me walking past Usain Bolt on the street and saying I beat him in a race one day.

Yep, but being Bostonian drivers they then try to pass me. And that fails.

I gotta ask, why the fuck are most of the cars in America automatic, That is NOT how a far should be driven, jeez.

Never driven an automatic and never will, I love being in control of my car and not having to let a computer change gear for me.

People are lazy and don't want to wish they had 5 appendages while driving instead of 4.
