Math Help/Tutoring Thread
well, here I am again.
took a break from halomods i suppose, but now the winter semester's started and i'm in calc. I guess i'll come back here a bit, but we're only on limits right now which aren't confusing at all.

ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Just wait until you get to rotating functions around an axis to make 3D shapes and attempt to calculate the volume of the shape. Esh.
Actually, it was pretty neat to see that a function on a graph that has an infinite amount of area, rotated around an axis to make the above mentioned 3D shape, has a definite volume.
Yeah, it doesn't make sense at all, but hey, that's math for you. xP
I should bust out my proofs that math is wrong again.

That's all from separate sources, mind you. His 3.75TB is in a single server. If I totaled all his storage, it would be around 5 or 6TB. MacMini with 1TB or so, PCH with 750GB, and some other things, can't remember.Geo wrote:If I factored in my two laptops, my mac mini and my iPod touch and the 1TB External HDD sitting under the HDTV, I'd be well over that.

Had to work this out for my physics project, let's see what you guys can make of it:
Assume a 75kg man is riding a 15kg bicycle up slopes of various inclines. If the pedal arm is .25m long, and the driving wheel has a radius of .3m, what are the approximate minimum gear ratios needed for the man to retain his current velocity while applying maximum force at 45, 30, and 15 degrees?
Don't forget that torque on the pedal arm is r sinƟ.
