Last night I went to go see Tropic Thunder at my local AMC. Going into this film I had such high expectations since the film had an awesome cast that it was sure to be a laugh riot. After the first maybe 30 minutes of the film, no one was really laughing. The movie was entertaining yes, but not very funny at all. All the good parts of the film had basically been shown during the trailers and TV spots.

The movie was fun to see but it gets repetitive after about 40 mins or so. If you like Ben Stiller or Jack Black or Robert Downey Jr. then by all means go and see the film, but if you have high expectations for comedy...don't be surprised when I say it wasn't that funny.

Comedies seem to be getting less funny, like they're trying too hard or something.

Yeah tural don't they? They need to go back to the days like Airplane and Police Academy and even Animal House those movies were funny but actually had a good plot that the comedy could survive on.

I'm sure they're will be a bootleg version sometime in the near future

I saw it and it wasn't at the top of my list. I can't say it was bad, but it didn't make me laugh until he threw that little kid. I almost cried seeing that kid go through the air.

Say what you will, but I liked it. I thought they overdid the cursing, just to make it rated R though. It would have been much better as a PG-13 movie.

I think the main reasons I liked it so much was because I like Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black and Tom Cruise. Well, all of them, really. I even liked Matthew McConaughey in it. I did think they overdid the swearing, but overall I liked it.

Tom Cruise was funny yeah but other than that the only other one i found funny was robert downey jr everyone else just tried to play off of the comedy he produced which wasnt funny

are you kidding? I LOVED The movie! I mean, its your opinion and all, but I say that had to be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, almost as good as Get Smart. But I also can't help but notice that I was the only one laughing at some jokes but I don't care.

but again, my opinion, if you didn't like it, you didn't like it...

pretty funny movie to be quite honest. Something funny happens every 5 minutes so it keeps you entertained the entire time. 7.5/10

Ben Stiller was really good in the movie, along with Robert Downey Jr. I didn't really laugh during the movie though, i actually thought it was kind of lame =/

Didn't even realise that was Tom Cruise till the credits.

Yeah well it even took me about 3/4ths or more into the movie to realize who that was. Not used to seeing Cruise bald :/

I thought it was pretty good, but it had more blood and stuff than I expected. I thought it was rated R for language. My buddy told me Cruise was in it, and the whole time I was looking for him, but I didn't know it was the bald guy either.

C'mon guys, it doesn't take that much to recognise Tom Recognised the eyes pretty quickly- Don't call me anything for recognising his eyes (because I look lovingly into them rite?)

I thought the movie was great. Totally kicked Pineapple express' ass in probably every form.


I feel like I need Tivo all of a sudden though. I sure could Bust a nut with some Tivo.
