Okay, so i ordered a laptop Sunday night and now for the past two days its shipping status is pending. I payed for ups ground shipping (3-5 days) and the company said it takes about 1-2 days to ship to where i llive. Do you think that they would keep it from shipping just so that i have to wait the amount of time i payed for?

If you've ever ordered something big online, you'd know it takes them a while to send. My computer parts took a week and a half, I payed for 3-5 day shipping. It's really no big deal. The company gets backed up with other orders, If you want it faster then pay for the overnight.

Um... I'm assuming you know by 1-2 days it means business days, i.e. 5 days, i.e. it could take 10 days? Just checking.

what are you talking about

He's talking about business days, as he said.

Business days are usually just Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday.

I don't see why people are so impatient when ordering things from the Internet.

It's a government conspiracy to cover up 9/11.

It'll take a while to process it before it gets sent out to ship.

Well, I'm really pissed cuz I bought a Zen yesterday on Ebay and it didn't come today. It came from Virginia (I'm in MD) from 40 mi. away so it should be hear rite??!??!??! I meen cum on, wtf yuh??

But srsleh, It said it shipped the day I bought it (at least on ebay--my dad didn't get any emails about the friggin transaction, even from Ebay), so it should take no time to ship 40 small miles.

It takes a minute to process the order. Usually 1-2 days from my experience. I've waited a few weeks for an order I had wanted. If you expect to receive yours in a day, and get angry when it's not there, you shouldn't be wasting your time ordering off the internet :3

Payment takes time, getting your order, especially for a laptop takes time, shipping takes time.

Sure, the shipping is 2 business days, but what about everything else? You think they just have thousands of laptops with the exact specifications that you have just laying around praying that someone like you orders them so it can quickly be sent to the shipping place and then to your house? I really doubt that.

My bet is that you'll get your laptop next Tuesday.


Plus if you had to get the laptop by a certain date, you would have put a much higher priority on getting it (like not ordering it over the internet on a Sunday for starters)

Depends. They probably won't be all "lolz look he livz close to us." They just shove it on a truck with the rest of their packages, it goes to the nearest center for delivery, and then they sort it down the supply chain.

ok sgee's post kinda cleared it up for me my real question was why was it still pending instead of started shipping on monday (the first business day) but once again sgee cleared it up for me thanks

The easiest way to explain that is that it just is.

Once it's actually on its way, it usually doesn't take long to arrive. But processing takes time.

Like I said. They have to ship to other customers BESIDES you.
Yes, there are other people who order laptops on the internet.
So it will take longer. Also some laptops have to be built, The process takes a little longer.

Send your order to manufacturing.
Order waits in line.
Begin assembly.
Install Software.
Package, ready shipping.
Ship.
3-5 days later...
