If you want a nice computer, I suggest building it yourself. No, don't say that's too hard. It's not. If you need help, people here can always help you find the parts, and there has to be someone around there that has some experience putting the parts together. If not, reading tutorials online are easy enough.
You'll get a better computer for cheaper. It means you aren't paying lots of extra $$ for the Alienware name.

Definite.
You can find some relatively cheap parts over at NewEgg.

People to people exchange, I think you'll be more satisfied with that experience then having a better guitar or computer. The guitar and computer are just going to grow useless over time, but the the memories of the trip you can keep forever.
Cliche, I know, but I think one of the most important aspects to life is traveling.

Don't get the Robot guitar, it's not worth it. I wouldn't pay an extra amount of money for my guitar to tune itself.

Yeah, definitely don't buy an alienware. I've gone to their site several times and maxed a computer out just to see how outrageous their prices are. Then if you go look up all the stuff that you want in the alienware computer on other sites, and total it out, you would be saving
THOUSANDS of dollars.
All you are really getting extra with an alienware computer is a pretty cool case (which you can find better looking ones for pretty cheap on the net, IMO) and a specialized alienware destop with icons, start bar, etc. You could just get a copy of WindowBlinds if you really want the special desktop and download a cool theme.
Just my little slice. Take it for what it is worth.

I say either buy all the parts and build it yourself, or drive around town and find a PC with some of the specs you want that is on display. You can get display models cheaper and then you can order parts and fix it up. I'd go with whatever comes out to be cheaper. As for the guitar, I wouldn't get it just because it tunes itself. If you are stuck, I'd probably say stick with the computer because you will probably use it more and it is cheaper.

All I can say is yeah the PtP thing is a once in a life time chance, but I wouldn't do it If I had the chance to.

You can get a killer computer built yourself for $2,000...plus, if you spend $8,000 on a computer, you never know if you're future proofed for new standards (like new PCI-Express and DDR3 RAM). But I assume that for that money you would be...

People on H2Vista.net say that ibuypower sucks big ones. They say that the computers just always break down, and are just really unreliable and stuff.
People to people is kind of cool, my friend has had a lot of fun experiences there, but if you could get a new computer or guitar, I'd pick one of those. Robot guitar doesn't seem as cool as a new computer to me (of course, I don't play guitar so...) Like everyone else said, you should probably build your own.

Agreed, In my opinion it's overpriced. Kind of like that car that parks itself, it's easy to do yourself, so why pay to make it a little easier?
To answer your question, the people to people thing, I got invited to that, but can't go because of money, so if you have the money I'd go with that.
