Hello all,
i am thinking about starting a website and i need to know of some good
hosting sites to get started.
i was looking and i found this one, since i am new at this i was wondering if this is good, or if it is not.
http://www.siteground.com/webspace-hosting.htm
(Look towards the right and you'll see the Super package, i was thinking about that)
Thanks!

do not go for go daddy they have horrible security my dads website was hacked and is being continuously hacked with trojans and whoever accesses that web page will be virus ed unless they have the proper virus scanner.
beware there are hackers out there that might put trojans on your web page so be careful with what provider you choose they need good security for one thing and don't ask them they will claim they have good security.

Indeed. I've run 2 sites using godaddy that have never had any problems and ran quite smoothly. It's mostly about the person running it and how safe they keep it.

My friend has used godaddy for quite some time and has had zero issues with them.

I'm currently using 1and1 and I can't
wait for my 6 month contract to be up. I don't even know where to be begin with criticizing them, so I'll start with the most annoying. Why the FUCK can't you change the default username and password for the ftp account. That would be fine by me but I got one of the cheaper packages that allows only 1 ftp account so I can't add my own so I don't have to memorize U8da1233fad every time I want to log in.
</1and1 rant>

he had it as secure as you could get and go daddy admitted it was there problem and supposedly fixed it. the whole server was compromised. and my dad has had several websites with go daddy for about 4-5 years and hasn't had problems till this happened 2 weeks ago.

Because most likely ever site is going to have "#1 hosting service" or some stupid ass gimmick on their front page. It's best to ask customers' experience prior to purchasing something that requires a large investment of time/money...you're going to want it to be really damn good.
