No. They're removing 2 arms, and 2 legs. She'll have the regular 2 arms and 2 legs.

The article says she would be unlikely to survive her teens. Sure they could have postponed surgery for a bit...but I'm sure the surgery is for the best.

She has 8 limbs, they are removing 1/2 of them. 8 * .5 = 4. Not sure where you get 6.

yea um 2 usable arms + 2 non usable arms = 4 + 2 usable legs + 2 non usable legs = 8 so if they take off 1/2 of them it leaves 4, 2 arms 2 legs

That's awkward... I feel bad for her.

I at first though that the limbs would be more organized, then i would be like cool.But then i saw it and now i feel sorry for her. Its a pain trying to find out which limbs to remove or not though.

Lakshmi can not walk or crawl and is unlikely to survive her teens without surgery.

I'm not impressed with some of the jokes in here or how some are taking this so lightly. Normally I don't give even the slightest shit about people and their sucky lives, but this really does suck. Fully-functional mind, but the likelihood of being made fun of the rest of her life until she eventually either becomes some TV inspiration or kills herself. Even if the surgery is a total success, this will follow her for a long time; and the likelihood of 100% surgery is slim I would think. I dunno...it just sucks to be her.
