Bypassing Google Maps' zoom limit.

The other day I stumbled across
this on the internet. Essentialy by fooling with the URL you can zoom farther than the default limit google has.
Here are some examples that i took.
A park near a beach in Sydney Austrailia. Austrailia has the highest zoom level that i have found so far. (22)
And the Statue of Liberty, with a zoom level of 20. I think the rest of NYC has 20 also. The default limit is only 19 in most places. I found 20 in Las Vegas as well as Houston. So you guys can try it out and post anyhting interesting you find.

Interesting. Although, it might be just that the original images were taken at different qualities, and Google simply reduces the zoom level to a standard that works for most areas.

Clever idea, I didnt think of that. Actually the more I think about it, the more it seems possible. But there must be some sort of concern for zoom levels around 23, if you click the link in the first sentence of my first post, you can practiaclly see everything, which should raise some concern. It is still fun though.

Yeah, awesome that there are high detail images on the GE servers.

Notice how there are no Kangaroo's at the beach?
But thats kool...I'd like to check if the dot near my house is me now...

No, you guys just have cloaking fields over them. I bet there's millions in that picture alone.

Heh, what part of Austrailia do you live in? I could only get the 22 zoom level in Sydney, way over in Perth I couldnt zoom in far.
