Ok this really anoyed me the other day. I put in an application for Kmart, i have to get money for stuff somewhere, and in the race setion there was no option for just white it was nonhispanic white....WTF. Are spanish people really taking over america that much? What are your thoughts on this?

It has nothing to do with racism at all. He's merely saying how his race was not clearly specified. The vast majority of the people applying for the job are most likely going to be white (non-Hispanic), and only because the vast majority of the people in this country are white (non-Hispanic). If the application did not have a "Hispanic White" option, I think it's rather ridiculous to omit Caucasian. Caucasian, after all, is a race like all the rest of the races.

This said, if the application did indeed include "Hispanic White," I think there is no problem at all. It's merely specified to accurately represent not only your skin color (irrelevant), but it represents your culture, your nationality (in some cases), and your race.

Well on test they put African American/Cuban on some forms I have ever filled out... but that doesn't really contribute to this.. but it kind of is the same..And yes the Mexicans are taking over.

I'm confused but wouldn't NONhispanic mean not spanish and just white?

Hispanic can mean from any Latin American country, as well as Spain.

Me being Hispanic find that ridiculous, its really stupid that shit like that actually happens.

the reason is alot of hislanics look 100% white, white is a color and cacasian doesn't realy fit (i believe it was deemed officialy politicaly incorrect) because cacasians are a specific group of people from a specific origin.

wat i wanna know is what line i should stand in... i'm 3/4 white 1/4 mexican

i believe the cut off is 1/3 latin to qualify as a latin american... but i am in no means a white not of hispanic origin... side not i was filling out an aplication to cvs pharmacy and there was an undicided option for both race and gender

I personally don't see why they even need to know where you came from or the colour of your skin...

top avoid a lawsuit they have to make sure the employees are race intergrated... meaning if its 90% white and they have a job opening, a non white person would be more likely to get the job... its BS but hey thats amnerica for u

Yet that does not stop McDonalds from having a 96% Mexican employee base who speaka da english none so good. I am not saying all Mexicans can't speak english, just most of the ones at McDonalds. Then again, I have seen people who claim English as their first and only language, but they can't even bother to use whole words.
