ok, so this is old, but the point is still valid.
for those of you that don't know, he's the infamous anti-videogame florida lawyer. to give you a perspective on his views, he is the one that has attempted to force walmart, target, and other retail stores from stocking rockstar's new game bully, based solely on the fact that it is based in a school setting and from the developers that made GTA, so it obviously must be GTA in school, right? wrong. for those of you that don't know, bully is more of a school social life sim than a virtual columbine. but i'm getting off topic...
ok, so he doesn't like videogames, what's so bad with that, right? well, it wouldn't be, except for the fact that he has such a biased, closed-minded, radical opinion that he is leading the usual ignorant american public against videogames like the pied piper.
but wait, it gets better. for whatever reason, he proposes to donate $10,000 to the charity of Paul Eibeler's choice (the chariman of Take Two interactive software, who owns rockstar) if someone makes a game to his description. (decription found here) well, it seems a GTA: Sand Andreas mod team took jack up on his word and made a san andreas mod to jack's description.
so, jack gives $10,000 to a good cause just like he promised, right? OF COURSE NOT! apparently, jack was just joking about giving 10 grand to charity. i mean, it's not like there's a good enough cause out there after hurricane katrina, and it's not like someone made the game he described </sarcasm>. good thing penny-arcade exists. they set things right and donated the 10 grand for jack, since he obviously forgot all about it. to quote penny-arcade.com:
I hope these events are enough to wake up the public and have them realize that this narrow-minded spineless man doesn't just hate video games, but he uses this hate to further his own personal agenda, including grabbing attention for himself, while stepping all over the people he claims he protects.
