as far as i know there is nothing bad about marijuana that isn't bad about alchohol. allow alchohol, and you should allow pot. simple as that.

because Marijuana is used for medicinal purposes its a prescription drug and not to be abused. why isnt there a big deal about other prescription drugs becoming legal withotu prescription?. Alchohol and Tabacco arent used for medicinal purposes( i forgot to move stuff when i add new stuff in an i deleted the last few word on the end by accident.)

Effects of Marijuana on the Brain:

Researchers have found that THC changes the way in which sensory information gets into and is acted on by the hippocampus. This is a component of the brain's limbic system that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with emotions and motivations. Investigations have shown that neurons in the information processing system of the hippocampus and the activity of the nerve fibers are suppressed by THC. In addition, researchers have discovered that learned behaviors, which depend on the hippocampus, also deteriorate.

Recent research findings also indicate that long-term use of marijuana produces changes in the brain similar to those seen after long-term use of other major drugs of abuse.

Effects on the Lungs:

Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same respiratory problems that tobacco smokers have. These individuals may have daily cough and phlegm, symptoms of chronic bronchitis, and more frequent chest colds. Continuing to smoke marijuana can lead to abnormal functioning of lung tissue injured or destroyed by marijuana smoke.

Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers. This may be due to the marijuana users inhaling more deeply and holding the smoke in the lungs.

Effects on Heart Rate and Blood Pressure:

Recent findings indicate that smoking marijuana while shooting up cocaine has the potential to cause severe increases in heart rate and blood pressure. In one study, experienced marijuana and cocaine users were given marijuana alone, cocaine alone, and then a combination of both. Each drug alone produced cardiovascular effects; when they were combined, the effects were greater and lasted longer. The heart rate of the subjects in the study increased 29 beats per minute with marijuana alone and 32 beats per minute with cocaine alone. When the drugs were given together, the heart rate increased by 49 beats per minute, and the increased rate persisted for a longer time. The drugs were given with the subjects sitting quietly. In normal circumstances, an individual may smoke marijuana and inject cocaine and then do something physically stressful that may significantly increase risks of overload on the cardiovascular system.

i just don't see how it's not as harmful as ciggarettes. then again, they do both kill you... meh, i've been against pretty much every form of "light this on fire and suck on it" to the point where i'll never do it.

I Would NOT Support A Bill Of Such Only Because America Does Not Need Something Like This. I Think It Will Only Create More Problems Within America.
In Example-
Drunk Driving, I Know DD Is Wrong And If You Wanna Dis-Agree You will prolly die in a car crash, But If there was a little weedums in the US and then people get hungry they goto white castle, and kill someone like me who has made it to white castle and i wouldnt get to eat my chicken rings!

However For medical purposes i would say no take some T3's or something

I don't smoke but I completely agree with you.
If they did legalize it, I would want stricter road laws as well though

Not to mention that bud will keep you focused, it's impossible to overdose on, and it's not as harmful as cigarette smoke. And it doesn't make you all fucked up like alcohol.

If anything, alcohol and ciggs should be illegal and pot should be legal.

i'm mentally/psychologically strong, and haven't succumbed to peer pressure as long as i can remember. (i just use the "STFU, i'll do what i want mofo!" whenever someone's tryin to get me to do something just because they want me to do it)

i'll probably drink sometime, and if not in high school, a bit in college. i don't see what the big fuss about drinking is. all the one's i've tasted taste like shit, save for smirnoff ice (fruity!).

I do not smoke pot, never have, never plan to, but I think it should be legal. However, that is because I think that all drugs should be legal, because I don't believe it's the government's place to tell you what you can and can't do with your own body. In fact, most drugs (Marijuana excluded) are tools of natural selection, those who overdose on drugs and die are removing themselves from the gene pool, and preventing the birth of other people stupid enough to overdose. It's mean, it's pessimistic, but it's nature.

I starting to change my mind. I dunno if it would be safe for Mary Jane to be legal. People will be walking around the streets being real crazy! It would probably be not safe at all!

do you see people drunk in the streets all the time?
also, there would most likely be the same age laws as alcohol

good outlook casket thats an amazing way to think of it but the other side of this is that the government is trying to protect innocent people from being harmed by poeple that are high and in doing so they have told us what we can and cant do with our bodies

Ohh well if it is the same age laws then that will be a lot better.
