I was wondering, is it possible to laser etch on the back of an iPod?

It depends on the depth of the etch.

Standard depth used on dogtags. ( not the stamped militiary ones, but the personal Dogtags you can get at the Mall.)

You can have it done by Apple so it is definately possible. I would have no idea about the depth however.

I know It could be done, but Im not quite sure if it would just go right through and melt my iPod. I would do this at school, but My teacher didnt want to be Liable in case it broke. I wish there was a way to take off the back plate and engrave on that, so you wouldnt have to risk melting it.

1. My dad took apart one of my Ipods (Mini) without damaging it at all... I wonder how.
2. My dad works at a Jewlery company, and ive engraved into the back of an Ipod (Mini) with the laser that they sell to other Jewlery companys.

Very simple.

I take apart my ipod by sticking a knife in the side crack and just propping it open. Mine's an older version and a lot bigger, so you might not want to try it
