Here's my explanation

-The animals are treated unfairly by the original owners
-they rise up and overthrow them
-commmunist gov. set up
-pigs say that everything is equal but they slowly give themselves more and more things like sleeping in beds, drinking, and eating human food
-one pig steals the others idea for a windmill and has him killed(same thing that stalin did)
-the horses hoof is split working, so the pigs sell him to a glue factory
-in the end the pigs take advantage of the rest of the animals, they don't work, etc.

I hope that made some sense
I thought it was a good book

Animal Farm is a fantastic book, so is 1984, also by Orwell. Imagettinowned pretty much summed up what you need to know, although you might as well read it, its something like 75 pages long. The last passage of Animal Farm is one of my favorite quotes:
"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which."

Alright, I got the topic of the Essay today, and its the difference between the Book and the movie.

R&C, yo.

[quote="In my Essay, I"]The book and the movie differ in so many ways, but some changes are nice to see. I find it a lot easier to read the book, and then watch the movie afterwards. You can compare details from the original text to the script in the movie then compare the movie to the book. In this case, Animal Farm, the movie is different in many ways from the original text.

One difference is that about 5 minutes into the movie, Old major is making a speech about Animalism and telling it to the farm animals. Then they break out in song, waking up Jones. Jones get a rifle, and walks towards the shed, trips, and shoots, killing Old Major. In the book, however, Old major dies of old age.

During the Battle of Cowshed, the animals chase the humans out of the farm, making the animals the ruler of the farm. The battle is pretty accurate to the book, apart from the fact that the battle in the movie took place at night, when in the book, the time of day is not specified. Even during the battle they made some mistakes. Only one person in the book had a gun, but in the movie, all the humans were armed.

Next was the construction of the windmill. There were no errors on the technique they used to build the windmill, but how the windmill collapsed is probably the most substantial difference in the entire movie. In the book, the windmill id blown down in a storm, but in the movie, Jones and his wife place dynamite at the base of the windmill and blow it up.

Not only were there major events like those listed above, there were some small differences too. Throughout the whole movie, Moses makes no mention of Sugarcandy Mountain. They never went into the house until the very end. The pigs never walked on their hind legs in the movie. Instead of a card game at the end, they have a formal dinner, and the movie continues on afterward, whereas in the book, that is the closing scene. In the movie, they show a scene of the aftermath of Napoleon's reign over the farm. Jesse returns to the farm and shows a Post apocalyptic scene.

Personally, I liked the book a lot more than the movie, but it is unfair to criticize the movie on how much information they left out, Even if it wasn
