that's what Bill Nye taught meTural wrote:No. That's not really something for debating, that's just incorrect. It's not a theory, it's common sense. Atoms bind together, that is what forms molecules and the like. These bonds, in addition to the matter, is why you can stand on it, that is what everything is. Atoms contain matter, regardless of them being "mostly empty space." Due to the unfathomable amount of atoms beneath, and within you, you are standing upon nearly solid matter. It's not because you're being repelled, it's because there's a **** load of matter there. If you were the size of an atom, it would be a different story, but you are not. I'll not get into how underqualified that teacher may be if they came to that agreement with you.

I don't understand anything you said about the magnets, or how it's relevant. Atoms bind to form molecules, which are held together securely. These molecules cannot simple break the bonds to pass through the small space between atoms. That's the simplest I can explain it, and I don't know what more to explain than that. Point is that repelling claim is wrong.
oh wait, i just read the last sentence of Tural's post >.<...give him some credit, he's not like a college professor or anything, just a high school chemistry teacher, and he's like one of the coolest teacher's I've ever had
about the atom thing, ok i get it now.
i can explain the magnet thing if you really want to know where i was going with that, but, if so, in a private message, not in the Happiness thread

For about a week i've basicly done nothing but watch random anime, play FF7, and small things around the house. I thinks its been a good waste of my time
.
Downside is that during this time I didnt hear anything back about the few applications I put in.
