I will probably go into Web/Graphic Design. Most likely for a gaming company.

My fall backs are Networking, 3d Animation, and Music Production.

I have a pretty strong background in music production. I've been working with my band for about 5 years. I setup our studio and equipment as well as manage the recording process. We have well overt $15,000 worth of equipment and are working on our first album. If we don't make it big I wouldn't mind working for either Metal Blade or Roadrunner Records.

The only music I can make is techno music...Which of course requires no real effort in...So meaning I can make no good music.

I would be fearful of being a web designer...Being a contractor, where work is not regular...Have to meet other people's demands which will change almost instantly, and of course, the thousands of other web designers out there that are as competant as you are...
I'd say itd be a tough job to make your main profession to really get somewhere...But that's my thoughts on it

techno music isn't bad, really, it's just hard to make good electric songs. for example, if you've ever listened to anything my infected mushroom, you know it's good, but he (possibly?) has some extra resources (violins?) than just synth programs. other than the equipment/software, ya need to think originally because good techno usually involves making sounds that are otherwise impossible to make, which means you have to think extra creative.

and for people in the IT industry, what would god first jobs be? does it matter?

and why are we looking forward to doing a specific job all our life? why not set goals or something?

I didn't give a specific job. I gave a broad area of interest, and a couple jobs that are possible.

I'll probably end up in some god forsaken hollow, drinking cheap red wine from a battered leather bowler hat....the finer things :P

or come under the imperialistic might of tescos...and become like them undead :D

(...but hopefully in the software industry)

That's gonna be uber freakin expensive, my friend is working on opening up his own studio, and is currently just trying to work in one to get the basic rundown on things. The equipment is really expensive.

I also am trying to save up for some basic recording stuff that we could just use in our school's sound studio. Stuff for making music is very expensive, and it takes a really long time for it to pay off. Plus the music industry is very competitive. If you try going into it not knowing this, you're just setting yourself up for failure.
