ok, so i didn't read pages 2 or 3 before i typed this, i just don't have time. now that that's out of the way:

posotive things about/related to myspace

-easier for friends to communicate
-great to see when your favorite indie band is doing a show and where
-legally listen to music for free
-maybe get introduced into web coding
-allows small organizations to have a page on a popular site to keep members informed

negative things about/related to myspace

-friends can also communicate throughs IMs, phones, in-person, etc., and without all the annoying sparkle .gifs
-it really is a very good way to keep tabs on indie/underground bands unless you know the members in person. actually, email would be better in some instances
-there's plenty of other ways to listen to free music without having to surf myspace
-people hardly take the effort to learn web coding, they just ctrl+c, ctrl+v, always generating terribly mauled code. pics of marbles as backgrounds, yellow text, pages wider than they are tall, broken, er, raped tables, and more than one media object set to autoplay on page load is a pain for anyone that glances at the site.

-small organizations, like clubs, can still communicate in-person at each club meeting, or through email, aim, etc.

-first target for pedophiles. look at 5 different girls' profiles. 4 of them will have pics of them somewhere scantily clad. +1 for pedophiles indeed.
-becomes a problem in school. when you're suposed to research for your project, but everyone in class is on myspace/bugging you on how to get past the filter they put up because of myspace, it becomes a problem.

-TERRIBLE security. if you have a profile on myspace, it's only a matter of time until it gets hacked. that time is decreased if you are a myspace whore or tell everyone at school your profile. chances are there's some kid there that doesn't like you.

-what ever happened to metting friends in real life? i spend alot of time on the computer, and it sucks. the last thing i want to happen is for me to be trapped inside because nobody else is doing anything.

the only thing i can say is good and will always be good about myspace is the fact that it collects all the idiots in one place for me to laugh at them. freakin' emos.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>
