yeah, No. I honestly don't care that much to get a dev box, I just want to get a 360 for 150 or less (need 40-50 for gas and such) but the only one I found was a Gamestop refurb with no Manufacturer warranty. Dunno how good they are, but the no manufacturers warranty thing scares me.

Yeah well if it was originally refurbed by MS, use my advice and just..

If it ever rrods, use a blowdryer to take the sticker off one of your friends boxes temporarily, and put it on yours. Once you get your new one back, give them a sticker back.

If $50 less worth it for an older box with no warranty? Absolutely not! Microsoft has changed the 360 multiple times over its lifetime; my newest one has a different power supply and runs 10x quieter than any of my previous boxes. Also, like I said before, I've had to go through 5 different 360s due to the RROD. Spend the extra $50 and buy a new one: you will not regret it.

Uh, he never once said to open your 360, as that would void the warranty.
The situation you made up would be stupid, as you made it up. So you're right in that sense.
What you're actually saying though is that you'd rather pay $50 than changing a sticker.

Even so, notice I only said if it was repaired by Microsoft. I stated that to clearly point out no one else should've voided warranty. There have been cases where people have gotten 360's back without a warranty sticker. I myself even have.

Regardless, I never told you to open it like Veegie said..

The last two times I've sent mine in they've just sent me a brand new one.
