tbh, a good sum of locksmiths don't even pick locks. Picking locks is a very minor part of the job actually, and doesn't make as much money as other areas. Stuff like installing door closers, door security, deadbolts etc is where the money is at. And basically the thing you do most is rekey locks. I'm actually going to be rekeying st. pauls hospital in vancouver in november, there's around 2000 locks to be done I beleive. I've been doing it for about 4 1/2 months now, and I'm still not any good at lockpicking because I haven't even had to do it yet.[cc]z@nd! wrote:Leiukemia wrote:I dunno if it still counts since I already graduated, but it was just this summer. I'm doing locksmithing. And 3d game development on the side for cash later.
the locksmithing sounds extremely interesting. i was trying to pick up lockpicking as a hobby myself, but being cheap, i decided to try and make picks out of hacksaw blades, but my files aren't nearly strong enough to shape the hardened steel. i'll check it out later if i get a dremel.
i play trumpet, but i don't think i'm gonna major in music or anything. it's really interesting, and i enjoy playing, but i'm afraid i won't have time to keep up with it in college.
i plan on getting a computer science degree. i've been looking at tennessee tech mainly, but i need to see if U Mich has a good CS program. once i get out of college, i want to get some sort of computer security related job, maybe get hired by/start a penetration testing company.
Yeah, and I can't remember specifically, but you have to go through a lot of schooling to be at the highest level of psychology.. which kinda sucks, but hey, I'd enjoy doing it, and it pays wellSHOUTrvb wrote:Arrested Development for the win. And I've considered psychology as well JK. Though Psychiatry pays better if you can deal with the med-school.Kirk wrote:Tobias?
