In my experience, writing on my PDA has been faster than on paper.
I don't care if they farm trees, this goes beyond the whole "meat comes from animals" thing. We need meat (or at least most of us do), but we don't need paper.
--
If someone threw any of my books on the ground, the damage it would cause would cost me money. Just because it's less doesn't mean that I don't owe the school for the book, even if you can still read it.
No one is going to take your PDA and throw it on the ground, especially not in a high school where the only 2 seconds you have alone are when you're in the bathroom between classes. If something like that happened in a school like mine, there would be too many witnesses and the person who threw it would pay. And if you're worried about security, my PDA asks for the password every time you turn it on, and I turn mine off every thirty seconds. And if you still think someone is going to take it from you because you turned your head when it was on your desk, PUT IT IN YOUR FREAKING POCKET. It's bigger than a wallet, so you could obviously feel it, and no one in their right mind is going to try to steal it from you when it's in your front pocket (for reasons that should be obvious)
@Grunt Rebel: Thanks.

besides, with the massive amount of survelliane in schools, the only way someone could go unseen is if they take it from you when your in the bathroom (and even then someone would see) or in class where they usually don't have cameras, but then there's the 20+ kids, and a teacher, in there.FleetAdmiralBacon wrote: And if you still think someone is going to take it from you because you turned your head when it was on your desk, PUT IT IN YOUR FREAKING POCKET. ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

That may be so, but here in utah almost no schools have surveylance that I know of. Ive been to a LOT of schools here too.[cc]z@nd! wrote:besides, with the massive amount of survelliane in schools, the only way someone could go unseen is if they take it from you when your in the bathroom (and even then someone would see) or in class where they usually don't have cameras, but then there's the 20+ kids, and a teacher, in there.FleetAdmiralBacon wrote: And if you still think someone is going to take it from you because you turned your head when it was on your desk, PUT IT IN YOUR FREAKING POCKET. Surveillance doesn't just mean cameras.
When you walk through the halls in your school, aren't here, oh, I don't know, other students? Kinda hard to take something when there could be 30 witnesses.

Yeah, but its not like anyone would care, stuff gets stolen ALL THE TIME at school.FleetAdmiralBacon wrote:Surveillance doesn't just mean cameras.

even so, ust keep it on your person. like mentioned, kids aren't always that desperate to steal something out of someone's pocket. all the victim has to shout is something like "STOP MOLESTING ME!" and it clears up.

Wow, must have happened to you then, 'cause no one has ever stolen anything out of my front pocket.
I don't see how it could possibly happen.
You can feel it in there, you could feel someone's hand in there, you'd know. And for most people, it would be instinct to turn around and punch, grab, or kick the person who did it.
Most of the things people steal, they steal because they don't have one.

Wtf are you doing wearing pants without pockets?
At my school, we can't wear athletic shorts, so there go just about all pants without pockets.

A person much bigger than you and much stronger than you can drop your ass and take it.
duh.
I've seen it happen before for a T Mobile Sidekick. Those are cheap as hell, and it wasn't customized or nothing. Besides, when something like that happens, it bounces person to person for a bit, so the thief won't have it. And if theyre smart enough, they'd sell it.

Um, that's against Ohio school regulations, and I live in Ohio. Therefore, that's not a problem. Plus, it still isn't that big and they can put it, well, wherever they put all their other stuff that chicks carry around...JimmyBeGood wrote:a lot of my pants dont have pockets even non athletic ones, plus what about girls who where short shorts?
Pretty much everyone at my school has an iPod. I believe the last time one got stolen was two years ago or something, and they got it back.
