2008 Summer Olympics
This years Olympics is a disgrace. China should have had the Olympics taken away from them before the competition even started and been made an example of. China promised a number of things to gain the right to host the Olympics, they fell threw on about 90% of there promises. Such an action will now make other countries think they can lie and make false promises to gain the Olympics. Now even theres the whole controversy over the age of the Chinese Gymnasts. It's just ridiculus and should be also made an example of. The medal should be ripped right out of the little girls' hands, as wrong as that may sound, they knew they were underage and thus cheating and thus diverse nothing more than humiliation.

Re: 2008 Summer Olympics
it was wrestling that was his last match anyway he wanted it to be a good one and the refs made a bull shit call-Legendary- wrote: OTHER STUFF
Dude who threw the medal was some Swedish athlete (boxer I think) who was going for the Gold medal and nothing short. So he has been training for at least 4 years hard and mighty and he only got Bronze. He thought it was BS so he threw a fit and quit (boxing? swimming?) for good. - (Thanks Dissolution.)
why does everyone forget about wrestling it gets no air time its one of the least talked about sports and yet its the sport that started the olympics its the earliest documented sport (see Genesis 32) and it is the most difficult mentally and physically and includes little amounts of drama

Exactly, that's the point, China would have wasted all that money building the stadiums and such. Just to be denied, They'd be furious however the rest of the world would get the very real signal of don't promise things your not gonna hold true on. China would never have got the Olympics if not for the promises it made. And should have had it taken away from them for there insubordinance.Corvette19 wrote:Because China would whine and **** if they didn't get the Olympics.Yamagushi wrote:This years Olympics is a disgrace. Those lead-based painted ones?newbymodder wrote:we had to let china host it they make all the cheap toys, and no nation wants all its kids gripping about not getting toys.
Sure..
And what about the mercury-filled lightbulbs they make to be "energy efficient" that our government is making a bill to force us to use?
K..
Be cheap and toxic if you want, but I want cheap and safe.
Those lightbulbs are more efficient. And as for unsafe.. Only if ur completely braindead.. The mercury is so subtle ud have to break a bulb open and sit there and lick the inside for a couple mins to get contaminated. I live in Massachusetts, we can't eat any fish caught in this state as there all contaminated with Mercury, and Im supposed to worry about a light bulb... come on...Main wrote:Those lead-based painted ones?newbymodder wrote:we had to let china host it they make all the cheap toys, and no nation wants all its kids gripping about not getting toys.

Why the hell are there even age limits for the olympics? Those 14 year olds earned their spots, and their medals! Who gives a fuck about the age?!
It only makes it all the more amazing! I congratulate them on their performance.

It is expected, and demanded.Tural wrote:MrMurder, we're going to hold you to that promise.
Age makes a big difference. There are 2 main reasons for this.Aumaan Anubis wrote:Why the hell are there even age limits for the olympics? Those 14 year olds earned their spots, and their medals! Who gives a *** about the age?!

1) Every other country had to use people aged 16+, Younger people would be more flexible and smaller, Thus giving a huge advantage in gymnastics.
2) The reason the rule was set. Doing such advanced gymnastics at such a young age in extremely unhealthy, Our bodies are not meant to work out at such a young age as our muscles aren't yet fully developed. These 13-14 year old gymnasts are going to have serious issues with there bodies later in life.
But at any rate its cheating. These little girls knew what they were doing was against the rules and deserve nothing more than being disgraced by having there medals taken away.
Don't be.

If you think China is the only country with underage competitors, or is "cheating" for that matter, you're kidding yourself.Yamagushi wrote:Age makes a big difference.
