If someone really would dig a hole straight down from their backyard, and dropped something into it, would it come out the other side, or will it stop in the middle of the hole. If gravity draws everything to the middle of the earth, would the speed of the object dropped through come out the other side, or go back and forth until the momentum is gone?

I have always wondered if there was "other" life out there.

SPACE IS A VAST PLACE.....There has to be life somewhere else besides here on Earth. The Universe is to big for there not to be.

I've actually always wondered what it would be like to be immortal, whether I would hate it or love it. It's a good philosophical question.

A program on the History Channel made me think. It was about the last days on Earth...and it made me think about what I would do if I knew a concrete day that the Earth would end.
I'd probably meet a bunch of people that I've wanted to, be closer to my family and friends, and then in the last months, I'd just stop caring about society. Bills? Who needs to pay them? Work? Who needs it?

In such a perfect example, where would the momentum go?
In a closed system the momentum would never totally dissipate, so it would always come up to the same height at which you dropped it.

Hell I would do that since day one. If I found out the day the earth would end I would party all day and night. Obey the law, hell no. What can they do, throw me in jail. Big whoop the world would end soon anyway.
I would also tell some people, like scientists. Tell him that it will end soon, and that I know the day. Make him sign a contract with me so I can go into space, and then we just need some females and a way to live in space.
