I hate customs.

I have two packages coming. One made it in to customs a day before the other.. And the one that made it in earlier got out in an hour, and is now at a delivery unit. The other which got there first, is still there now, and has been there since sunday/saturday.

I ordered a Textbook online, and the shipping said it would take 1-3 days to ship. It charged 22 bucks for Express shipping. I ordered it on Thursday of last week. I checked the logs on the shipping number. It's by DHL, which recently discontinued US Local shipping. Meaning I need to go and pick it up at a local substation in Signal Hill.(about 30 miles away.)

1/14/2009 4:27 am Depart Facility Los Angeles Gateway, CA
1/13/2009 10:47 pm Processed at DHL Location. Los Angeles Gateway, CA
9:44 pm Clearance processing complete Los Angeles Gateway, CA
9:29 pm Transit through DHL facility Los Angeles Gateway, CA
7:28 pm Depart Facility Hong Kong - Hub, Hong Kong
7:10 pm Processed at DHL Location. Hong Kong - Hub, Hong Kong
1:30 am Transit through DHL facility Hong Kong - Hub, Hong Kong
1/12/2009 8:58 pm Depart Facility Subang - Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Malaysia
8:58 pm Processed at DHL Location. Subang - Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Malaysia
5:04 am Transit through DHL facility Subang - Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Malaysia
2:59 am Depart Facility Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
2:59 am Processed at DHL Location. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
1/11/2009 10:08 pm Processed at DHL Location. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
9:59 pm Departing origin. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
2:10 pm Shipment picked up Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

So now, I can't drive to signal hill to go get my Econ book because my car is still busted, and the bus doesn't go from Torrance to that area of Long Beach without major transfers that takes me way far away to come right back.

I'm almost done with what I started on.. I started out with mapping my old school (which was previously an office building), and decided to convert it into an office :p
CS Mapping is actually extremely easy. You should definitely look into it when you get the time. FPSBanana has the best tutorials for it.

I've really been wanting to get into all sorts of stuff like that (weapon modeling, level modeling, texturing, etc.), but I just don't have a PC with the specs to do that kind of intensive processing. ;~;

I've been promised some monies for a new PC when I graduate HS (seeing as that's sort of the field I want to get into as well, anyways). That on top of me getting a job soon could result in a system with more than enough POWAH to do all the fun stuff you guys with good systems have been doing for a while now. Also, darn it, we borked the rant thread JK. ;~;

CS:S isn't a demanding game at all. I was able to run it with an old integrated nVidia chipset just fine. The graphics sucked, but it ran perfectly.

Ok, I lol'd.

One of my friends (not a very close friend, but still) had a panic attack or something, and was going in and out of consciousness after school today. Ambulance got him, I hope he gets better. :(

have you turned down your resolution? do you even have a GFX card (not integrated)? have you tried using your GFX card control panel?

What's all this about CS:S? I never mentioned it at all in any of my recent posts. :s If you look again, you'll see I was referring to modeling and texturing, not playing a game. Also, I have an nVIDIA GeForce 5500FX and a single core CPU, so yeah.

Did I mention only 1GB of RAM (old, slow RAM)? I can never get anything done modeling-/texturing-/compiling- wise because I always end up with some sort of error, or running out of system memory, or just plain BSOD. :| I'm hopeful that a new, updated hardware will alleviate such issues. :/

With system requirements like these i don't see why you should have a problem. Theres plenty of commands that can force the game into running at lower quality levels, if it's that big of a problem I'd look into it.

Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection
