That comment is based not only on unreliable information, but it is also based on information which, even if it was reliable, is still not indicative of the results to come. Surveys have changed a lot, frequently, over the last few months.

Also, I hate political posts, because someone is always going to disagree with you, and someone is always going to post telling you it, because neither side can stop complaining about the opposition.

The people who write the code we use in my programming (Java) class are dumb. I have a feeling that they do not understand comments and their purpose. People are capable of understanding something without a huge description of it. I'm having to remove all of the comments, on three identical classes (Because efficiency is stupid, right?), and I have a feeling they're going to bitch about it.

It was an extreme, false example to emphasize the stupidity of the amount of comments that are placed within the code. Every line is commented, and most lines, single lines, variable declarations, and so on, are all commented with three or more lines of comments. There is no reason to explain the fucking name of a variable, because if one cannot grasp the purpose of the variable from the obvious name, they are retarded. I do not need three lines before and after the variable to explain it. At most, three words could be placed on the same line, and that's still unnecessary. Their "proper" methods are really just advocating wasting time and being inefficient for no legitimate purpose. They are teaching, nay, forcing, bad time and effort management.

Comments help other people understand code but to that level it will most likely slow the process down for people new to the program.
