I've never been in a relationship so I don't really know for sure, but it seems to me that these so-called couples just text each other all day and talk a lot while at school. And then eventually you break up and move on to someone else again. I don't know, I just think it's totally stupid.
Yeah, seriously. My step sisters REALLY into this.

Im like "WTF?! Do you ever go out to like dinner? Why bother?" Its a waste of time.

Not if you really enjoy being around the girl you like.

@0m3g4Muff1n987 If you have fun then I see nothing wrong with it at all. I find your view worse than theirs.

Anyway, ads never cite sources of research, they just tell you its all true.

Looks like I'm not going to the Coldplay concert near me this fall.. $130 (or something like that.. I think it was higher) for the cheapest tickets, and $800 for the most expensive. Jesus christ... They're good, but not that good.

Yeah.. but the typical middle school relationship doesn't involve either of those things heh. I know exactly what he's talking about.. we've all been there.

Bull. In Middle school, our "Going Out" was making out in the Nature park. We went to the movies too, but not really often. It all depends on your cashflow and how much time you're willing to spend with the person. There is no "Typical" relationship. Each one is unique and you treat it as so. If you're willing to do more stuff with them, expensive or not, you will be rewarded for your efforts.

I haven't been able to play video games since a few weeks ago because my parents have stored my consoles in a box in the closet for an indefinite amount of time, or "until we spend more family time together," which is impossible because all of my family members have jobs and are gone most of the time. >.>

Lmao. That's probably how it'll work when I get into high school. :o

Yeah, my parents took away the computer for me and all my siblings for however long they decide about a week ago as well. They said it was ok to watch TV and play the Wii though, even though they're pretty much the same as the computer, because they can be "social" things and we can "invite our friends over" and play the Wii and stuff like that. Lawl, my brother doesn't have many friends, my sister just watches TV alone, and the only game I ever play on the Wii is GH3, and we don't even have a second guitar so there goes playing with friends. No one really wants to come over to our house like they used to because of all these new "no screens" rules. So I really don't know what they're thinking. My parents have been kind of pissed off lately about us kids playing on the computer and the Wii too much and not going outside, hanging out with friends, going to the pool, etc. They're even kind of starting to think now that I've been texting too much. The truth is, when I'm on the computer or whatever, I'm almost never texting because I'm occupied, but they get the impression that I do it all the time because I do it a lot when I'm around them or doing something boring like playing outside or sitting around at the pool, naturally, because those things are usually boring. Don't get me wrong, the pool is really fun if a few of my friends are with me because we can look like a regular group of teens and talk to girls and stuff, and if I do something stupid like completely screw up a dive or suck at four square one day, I can just laugh it off with my friends. But, my parents choose the worst times for the whole family to go, and none of my friends can go at the time that we go to it, and no way I'm going to the diving board or to four square because normally I'm really not good at dives or playing four square, so I usually need to be with some friends to make myself not look like an idiot. So normally when the whole family goes to the pool, I'm stuck there with no friends and end up texting them instead of going in the pool and looking like some kid with no friends.

And so, my parents, in addition to taking away computers, are limiting our time on the friggin TV and the Wii as well. But it almost never matters, because both of them are constantly working and almost never come into the basement to see if we're breaking the rules. That's how I'm on the computer right now--my parents normally don't give a shit about what we're doing. And that's also how I'm going to get past my mom's rule about having one more hour on the Wii today, and if she actually comes over and tells us to get off, I'll just tell her my brother and I were taking turns and neither of our time was up just yet. Wooo. Sometimes it gets kind of boring, though. I'd rather just get high school started, because summer is proving to be not very interesting so far.

Hey now, rewards can be a number of things. From a simple peck on your cheek to a hand up her skirt.

As for the no screens rule, make what you're doing on screens look appealing. i have recently got a number of awesome movies from blockbuster, (Apocalypse Now!, A Clockwork Orange, Kids, The original Gone in 60 Seconds, Vertigo, Strangers on a Train and a few others.) and have been watching them instead of what parents normally think teens watch, like stoner movies or those outright stupid "(__) Movie"s. Now they think your taste in movies has matured, and is ok to be in front of a screen. But going outside isn't all bad. Spending time with the ones you love, play with and care about are numbered. 3 weeks ago, I woulda found cruising around this city in a car with no air conditioning was a drag, and boring. Now, cruising in the city in a hot car with no AC is fun. Especially when you have friends in the car, or your girlfriend with you. You may not be doing anything with them, physically, like playing a game, or anything, but spending time with the people can be great fun too. Just being in their company is well worth it.

Rant: Religious girlfriends who believe in Abstinence.

She's not against all of the "smaller things", just the "main one", so it's really not that big of a deal.

still kinda sucks though. lol
