Pretty damn interesting. Perhaps it's possible. I agree with the theory that you can go back in time, but everything you do must agree with history. It just seems logical to me. :?

Time travel is a logical paradox, but can be explained with scientific principles.

There was a machine that was claimed to say that, when turned on, it would send you information from the future. That is, you could talk into it, and it would take that information back to the time the machine was turned on. Then, in theory, when you turned it on, you would hear voices from the future. Let's say you heard the voice, but then turned the machine off. Then you heard something that never happened in the future, a perfect paradox.
The same would be true in the past. Would we not see people who have come back? The obvious thing to realize here is that if time travel were possible, the public would not be able to do it. The general population is simply too irresponsible to handle the ability to alter the entire history of the world. The only way time travel would really work is if it was some alternate universe theory, as you can't reason that time travel ever becomes possible, because nobody has ever come back as far as anyone knows, and the paradoxes it entails.

Its in interesting concept but with the way they worded it it would be kinda hard to prove because once they go back they wont end up in the same timeline and so technicly we would just never see them again.

I'm too lazy to research this, but doesn't time travel involve moving faster than light speed? And doesn't moving at that speed require you to be massless? If these two are true, it seems impossible.

Interesting video.

Time travel involves moving. It's hardly noticeable unitl you move at speeds that make you go 'wtfomg!'. For example, some r4ndom dudes put an atomic clock (very accurate) on a satellite and whizzed it around the earth a few times. The twin clock on earth was a few point squillions of a second behind. Time travel is theoretically easy, but not practical.

The only thing is though, and the part I'm confused about the speed of light is that if you are traveling at faster-than-light speeds, when you get there what would there be? Technically it seems like your body wouldn't be there yet. Like... you could see and move, but you couldn't see your body? :/ I dunno.

if time travel was possible, then wouldn't people that lost badly, example WW1 the nazi, would try to change it? Like go back in time and alter history, but then we would have a time travel war, if it was possible then why could learn so very valuable things, like how the dinosours died, how the earth was created etc, interesting concept, i doubt it is possible yet tho, or anytime in the near future

Has anybody seen Blackadder Backa and Forth? "Interesting. The dinosaurs were in fact wiped out, by your pants." I think that if we went back in time it would not be possible to change history, only to cause it.

Wouldnt be a time travel war it would be a timewar :p.
personaly if time travel doe's become existant it is only by certain facilities such as for research other kinds of things like it as i personaly don't trust the human instinct enough to say wahey everyone all aboard the time machine.

That was the name i was looking for, i would say that only certain ares should have it notit be open to the general public, as well as know that i think of it i dont really want time travel because it can cause some major disasters.

I believe the only way time travel could exist is if there were infinite parallel universes. The whole concept of time travel is way too fucked up for us to understand really, and I think it's best left alone.

absolutely but then again teh terrorist could go back in time and cause another disaster, thus starting a "timewar" so i guess no matter what the scenario something bad could hallways happen

Except, as has been mentioned before in this thread, it won't be publically available. Humans are capable of being mature with that kind of power.

Unless you touch on string theory, where you would never see individuals from the future. As they would be going to a close, but not identical reality in the sixth dimension.

Time slows the faster you go, that's a very old discovery that has been proven time and time again. But slowing time != time travel.

Yes, it could be absolutely devastating, what if WWII didn't end, and they didn't launch the atomic bombs. Or think about the cold war.

I just comprehend going back in time 20 years or forward like 100 years the future in a blink of the eye. think about if you went back like 50,000,000,000 years what would there be.
