Yea for a starter gun, a Tippmann is the best way to go. Cheap buy them almost any place (even walmart lol). And you dont need to worry to much about dropping it and breakin it.
I gotting back into paintballing. So I bought my Girlfriend a Tippmann custom 98 from wallyworld. She wants the swing trigger for it.
But anyway Tippmanns can be upgraded like crazy so if you save up money your gun will be tricked out in no time.
Also something you should think about, instead of Co2 you should use Compresed air, its cheaper at most places(here its 7 bucks all day =)
*Edit* *Also Compresed air helps keep a constant FPS when you crono it.*

As for gear...really any JT mask will do.
Gloves are good for someone who is starting out.
Also get a barral Squeegee (Make sure its long enough for your barral)
*Squggee is a must have for paintball breaks in your barral, if you dont have one youll end up asking someone for one :p*
*EDIT* *A 20oz coz would be the best tank to get. But if you have the money for it get at 48ci or 68ci air tank(I have a 68ci tank)
Lube is good to have to keep your gun running smoothly. If your playing a woods game I would suggest getting a 14inch barral for your gun if your playing speed ball or Air ball your stock barral or a 12inch would be fine.(Not sure what the stock size barral is for the A5, I think its 8inchs)
Bring a towl lol. Youll need something to clean up with.
Buying some Podz to keep some extra balls in(if you shoot and miss alot :p)*

To tell the truth the best thing to have on is a **SMILE**. Sounds lame I know. But paintball isnt about having the best gear or gun. Its about having fun. When I was younger and played, I would hear ppl talking about how their Angel shot 38 balls a sec and being like OMG SWEET. Be nice to others, if you use something from someone else make sure you give it back(trust me Iv had people use my squeegee or alan wrench and not give them back and had to track them down, not fun)

There was a guy that got a dare to go to the paintball club's meeting in the Gym( yeah, they set their shit up in the Historical Gym, with all of the Banners and memorabilia everywhere. Strange isn't it?) Wearing The Thin Cheap Gymshorts, a Wifebeater, and a 2 Bar Football Helmet. Needless to say, He got Fucked up with some severe welts and bruises. It looked like he had a 3rd nipple for like a week.
