Again, there is nothing spectacular about this zPrinter model.
There are $5,000 models that work the same way and you're all amazed at a $40,000 model?
Regardless, neither will make anything bigger than around 10" cubed.


This technology has existed for a very long time, and there are dozens of methods ranging from printing layers of plastic that melt together to cutting paper strips, to milling blocks of plastic down to final products. (This specific model uses composite plastic, which can create some pretty nice models, but...)

The maximum dimensions are 8"x10"x8". That's not even a foot in any direction.


Nothing amazing about this. Period.

Let people believe that something expensive quick that can also create semi good looking products can be better than anything, when in reality it isn't that special at all...Isn't that the supposed appeal of macs? ;)

To me its not really amazing, however it would be pretty damn fun to mess around with
