The full name is either an Xbox 360 Registered Developer Kit or an Xbox Registered Developer Kit. Dev Boxes for short.
I think it's good that MS is actually admitting their mistake here, it makes me want to trust them a little more.

Everything you'll ever need to know about me.
Need help with Linux, C#, C, Python, Java, PHP, Javascript, CSS, or VB? I'm available from 3:00PM-8:00PM EST on weekdays.
Sorry but no.Halo 2 Rules!! wrote:Yes, it's suddenly illegal to buy a devbox for a company he is part of.Veegie wrote: Sorry to ruin your opportunity that you took upon yourself to tout illegal activities.
If he was a licensed developer all he would have to do was sign a piece of paper as he left the studio for the night to take home a devbox for personal use. There would be no financial issues to worry about.

No use arguing over it... you win. You believe that, I believe this, I really don't care who is right.
However, what is the advantage of a devbox? why would you want one if it just plays the same games and does the same things, and looks the same?
or am I confused on what a devbox is?
damn i'm such a noob.

Or its because people don't take care of things all that wellgh0570fchurch wrote:No, they're all defective, it's just not all of them have run into the problem yet.lordbunson wrote:Not every 360 is defective. It has a 1/3 failure rate. taht means 2/3 is good

But there must be an issue about personal abuse instead of overheating etc. I live in Australia, a very hot country in drought for many years. My 360 hasn't melted yet, so I must be doing something right to keep it alive.

I've red if you get the red lights of doom you can rap your console in a towel. Power it on for a good 45 minutes, and this will heat it up the soldering, making temporary fixing the broken connection with those console so you can play for about 3 more hours. Then of course do this again, for another 3 hours of gameplay. It's proven to work, but that does of course depend on the cause of you consoles failure.

That's ridiculous when you have a three year warranty.lordbunson wrote:I've red if you get the red lights of doom you can rap your console in a towel. My console switches alot.. For filming.. I have to move it away from the big screen to the Computer >_<
And the only problems I have had is something I call, "A Burned Image", which happens when I play alot, A picture of Halo 2, will get stuck on the screen ,and be very transparent.
Another thing I found a problem is, I press the the button to get the disc tray out, and the disc is still spinning >_< It seems harmful, but maybe it's not.

2) make sure you go to dashboard before ejecting. That's what I'd do.
