OMG.

If you got this processor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115021

and got 8GB of RAM and a x64 edition of windows ... your computer would be RIDICULOUSLY rapesaucepwnage. If you got that video card, you could run H2V at like 300fps. lol.

Drivers might be an issue with X64 windows, not sure how 64 bit video card drivers perform.

Well, I heard that you had to have x64 Edition of Windows to use more than 4GB of ram. x64 can use up to 8GB i heard?

They perform great, we have windows xp x64 on our desktop. Drivers aren't as big of an issue as they used to be, as long as all the parts are recent it should not be a problem.

Windows XP x64 can address up to 16 exabytes (16 billion gigabytes), but is currently limited to 128 GB (Of RAM)

What would you do with that much ram? That would cost a ton, because I saw an ad for a computer that was $30,000 and it had only 64GB of RAM, and it had like a Quad-Core Extreme processor.

The point is that it's possible, and so that it's kinda future-proofed.

I'm sure 20 years ago someone would have said "What would you need 64mb RAM for?"

Exactly. But then again, new programs will already be coming out for newer Operating Systems, so XP will be a joke anyway. Just like the people who STILL run Mac OS 9.

If you could get a NVIDIA 8800 GTS 320MB or if you want GTS 640MB that would be good.

Not trying to derail this thread but I was wondering if they made 2gb RAM Sticks?

Before I got my P.O.S. I thought about building my own comp but didn't have the cash at all for it.

2GB desktop RAM
4GB server RAM

those are just the largest single-stick sizes i could find on newegg, you can always mix-n-match 'em for more.
